Craft Room Updates

It’s been about ten months since I revealed my craft room makeover. Since that time I’ve made a few updates and additions to the space once I had the chance to live with the makeover, and have made a few adjustments along the way. Today I’m sharing all of those changes and offering up an art giveaway at the end of the post!

You may recall, I/we use this room for three main purposes: sewing/crafts, movies/reading space for me, and lastly it is where we both workout {usually together}. The prior lights in the space with four large drum shades quickly proved they weren’t the best option for how we are using the space. Jumping jacks/other workouts + tall people = no bueno.

As I mentioned in a recent Wednesday Watch List, I bought a new light for the craft room to alleviate this problem. We finally installed it yesterday and it is seriously perfect for this space. I love the glam it adds to an otherwise casual room and it provides the feel of a chandelier without taking away from the head room clearance.

If you’re looking for sources for any of the items in the room, I have included them at the end of this post.

Craft Room painted with Healing Aloe paint and crystal chandelier

Craft Room Flush Mount Crystal LightYou can see the light looks just as beautiful off as it does on. I currently am using four 40 watt bulbs in the fixture, but it can accommodate up to four 60 watt bulbs if I need more brightness. I love that the base of the light is chrome so it actually reflects all of those bulbs providing even more light than you may expect.

As a reminder as to just how far this room has come in ten short months, here is the ‘before’ images from last June:

Definitely a huge improvement, right?! This little reading/movie watching/relaxation nook is still one of my favorite features of the space.

I haven’t changed too much on the other side of the room where my sewing table and inspiration board sit. However, you can see I decided to spray paint the starburst mirror gold and I love the extra bit of bling it adds to this area. I used the same paint used on the frames over the chaise – details in source list below. I also added a fun splash of color with a print from Z Paint Studio {you can win one of your own at the end of the post!} I love that it feels more like “permanent” art than the items on the inspiration board do and it’s fun to pull in some coral and pink into the space. The prints are all beautiful and are extremely affordable – great for uses like mine or in gallery walls.

I apologize for the crazy glare on the TV in this next shot, but I won’t apologize for the fact I am loving all the sunshine that was out this weekend. I wanted to show a full room shot so you could get a better idea of the scale on the light. I absolutely love that you can see nearly all {135} crystals from the doorway of the room!

I love how this craft room makeover has come along and I’m glad I use the space every bit as much as I thought I would! I’m sharing the full source list below and at the end of the post is the giveaway.

Such a fabulous space, Sarah! It is so clean? Where is all your junk? My craft room can be dangerous to enter because random crafting too are packed in so tightly that you don’t know when they might explode out at you, causing bodily injury. Wowza. It is gorgeous. And thanks for the giveaway!!
