Craft Room TV Stand

So, remember that time four months ago when I madeover my TV/craft room? Well, other than the inspiration board tutorial, I didn’t share many details on some of the makeovers in the space. Today I’m going to share the TV stand makeover.

I had this buffet table in our last house that we used as a TV stand {you may remember I painted another buffet table like this previously}. In our current home, the black felt a bit harsh so I figured it was time for a makeover so I could use it in my newly decorated/multi-tasking craft and movie room. Here’s the stand, and the craft room, before:

I decided to use Country Chic Paint’s Simplicity on the stand because I wanted it to be a bright, clean white. The paint didn’t disappoint! Because I was covering such a dark piece of furniture, I ended up applying three coats and finished with the natural wax. I love how it turned out! The original hardware wasn’t doing the piece justice to I spray-painted all of it with gold paint. It is the perfect compliment to the bright white surface and wood-toned top!

We were able to pop the back of the unit off just enough to slide the electrical components for our DVD player and surge protector into the cabinet behind the doors. I love that I don’t have to have any of these components showing in the open!

You may notice the feet are still black. I’m trying to decide if I should paint them white or gold, or even another fun color. But, I think you’ll agree – this room and TV stand have come a long way since June! For any of the source information in this space, please check out this post on the full craft room makeover.

In the next week or two I’ll be sharing another fun furniture makeover in this room. If you would like to follow along on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle and other posts, I’d love to have you follow me on any of the following:
