A few weeks back, I shared my courtyard design plans for a little refresh I had in mind. And today, I’m excited to share the courtyard makeover reveal with you in partnership with Joss & Main. Not only that, I have details at the end of the post on how you have a chance to win one of three $500 Joss & Main gift cards for your own outdoor makeover! I love that Joss & Main is always introducing fresh, seasonal finds for the home at amazing prices and I love each of the items I added to our courtyard for this makeover.
Here’s how the space looks now!
It’s come a long ways since last week!
It’s safe to say that last week I spent a lot of time sweeping, washing and cleaning up the space to get it ready for late spring and summer!
The striped outdoor rug is clearly the new star of the show, but it is also the hardest item to photograph in this space. It completely changes the vibe in our courtyard and helps add so much more personality, color and pattern!
These resin planters are exactly what I was looking for, and I really want to get a few more out by the pool. They are definitely an investment piece, but I love the shape and the fact that they come with an insert so that you don’t have to fill the entire thing with dirt. They come in four colors and three sizes. Mine are the espresso brown in the 32″ high size.
I’ve mentioned before that we love our firepit set that we got from Costco several years back, but it is darker than my current style. I love that the table has a lazy susan cover for when the fire pit portion isn’t in use. The addition of this white tray on top of the lazy susan helps to brighten up the dark table, and I’m sure you can assume I’m obsessed with this pineapple jar and marble cheese board! It should be coming clear that I operate under the theory one can never own too many ceramic pineapples or pretty cheese/bread boards.
I am obsessed with this drink dispenser. I love that you can add fresh fruit to that lower compartment to add color or items coordinating with a party theme.
I’m loving the addition of these oleander trees I got from a local nursery. The leaves remind me of olive trees for some reason, and I’ve heard the smell on the blooms are to die for. Can’t wait until the bright pink flowers arrive!
The pretty outdoor trellis pillows help brighten up our brown chairs, and I love how they look in combination with the rug!
This set of three woven plastic planters are a great way to add a grouping of color or start a container herb garden! The sizes are perfect and they are durable, yet lightweight.
Each time I walk down our hallway now, I’m in love with the view!
And here’s a quick picture I took on my iPhone while sitting at my office desk. The screen door is making it look a little crazy, but I have to say I love the view while I’m working!
I can’t wait for the weather to start getting better so we can enjoy this space even more!
Now, it’s your turn to share your outdoor spaces for a chance to win a $500 Joss & Main gift card. Head to Joss & Main’s Instagram page (this post has all the details). You did a great job on your courtyard! Just an FYI – Just remember that Oleander trees/bushes are extremely poisonous to pets and humans. You can find all of the signs and symptoms of oleander poisoning on the internet so you will know what to watch for.
Thank you! And I had NO idea on the oleander. Thank you so much for the heads up. Maybe I’ll have to move these out of the courtyard and further away from the house so the cats don’t accidentally ingest any.
I am SO GLAD that Amy told you how poisonous Oleander is…..all of it.. the roots, flowers, leaves. Most people have no idea how poisonous most shrubbery is so please be careful. Your courtyard is lovely though. Loved seeing it.
Oh gosh–I had no idea about the Oleanders either. I had them in my front pots 2 years ago. I did some research after seeing that comment and it sounds like they are highly poisonous even of a little is ingested. Ugh–my kids probably pulled the flowers off many times that summer and then touched their food or mouth. ????
It looks great and I absolutely love the blue cushions on the chairs! My patio set could definitely use some color to brighten them up. Great ideas!
Your courtyard looks amazing. What kind of string patio lights do you have? I am looking to purchase some new sets this year.
Also, love the drink dispenser.
Sarah, I just love your home and style. You did such a beautiful job giving your courtyard a makeover. I bet you’re going to enjoy sitting out there a lot this summer!!
It looks gorgeous, Sarah! I love that rug!! Our entire outdoor space is under construction – I can’t wait to get to the point where we can get it setup again!
Amazing view of your country yard. I liked the herb garden, it looks so pretty. You did a wonderful job.
I love those resin pots! I’m curious how the insert works or looks like. I’m looking for fairly affordable pots like those for our patio to plant some nice annuals.
Your courtyard looks fantastic! Fantastic choice on the rug and pillows – love!
I’m so glad that you have been forewarned about the oleander. It’s very poisonous , but so pretty. Best kept to the outlying areas of your landscape.
Beautiful setting, lots of great ideas here! I especially like the fire pit table.
Love this makeover! Enjoy it then this summer! Truly beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Do you know where the courtyard privacy wall is from?
We’re the second owners, so I don’t know for sure. But, I’m pretty sure I saw something nearly identical at Home Depot a year or two back!
