We received our e-plan from Autumn and we are really happy with all of her recommendations.  I am sure it will be a slow process as we look for those key pieces to add {from both a pricing and timing perspective}.  I did change out our “art” this weekend with some water prints of photos I have taken from various trips – the colors {blues, aquas, greens and neutrals} are exactly what fits our plan.  I am actually in love with how they turned out.  And at only $1.29 a piece to print at Costco, you really can’t ask for cheaper art! I have always loved the idea of adding travel photos in decor to help keep the memories of your vacations alive and front and center on a daily basis!

We love the ocean vibe these travel photos add to the dining rom!
The mat under the table needs to go – it is filthy and is just not heavy enough to stay down as chairs move on it.  Autumn recommended an indoor/outdoor rug so that it can be easily cleaned and will hold up with traffic coming in and out off the deck.  I love the rug she recommended but we are going to see if we can find a cheaper alternative.  Although the sweet thing about this one is that you can hose it off, bleach it, etc. and it won’t fade or come apart.  I will also be doing a DIY project and changing out the trim on our two roman shades.

The next thing we changed this weekend was adding a mirror.  This was the first item on our list of recommendations we wanted to get to and we both loved this idea as soon as we heard it.  With the white board + batten we had added, it becomes difficult to add art or mirrors to our walls.  However, Autumn recommended propping a tall mirror on our credenza.  Unfortunately, most we found online we either too big or too small {or had a price tag that was WAY out of our range}.  We found this one at Garden Ridge with a super cheap price tag – and although it may not look like it in the photos due to the scale of the room and furniture, it is about four feet tall.  We wish it were about six inches taller but we are going to try it out for a bit because the price tag was so appealing.  What are your thoughts?  Does the height look okay?
Lastly, I played around with PhotoShop to put some “art” on the walls. We are going to remove the black framed mirror to somewhere else in our house so that we can have more of a balanced effect with some art. Autumn recommended four prints on one side balanced by a large print on the other. Here are some options I played with on Overstock {the four on the left aren’t ones I am in love with but the image had four together so I could test the look}.

This is probably too symmetrical – coordinating prints.  But I love the colors of each one.

We really like this print online but I worry it is a little too colorful.  I love the scene and it has really high ratings for quality.  The husband is still a fan {because it reminds him of places we have traveled} but I am still thinking it over.

The rug Autumn recommended for our living room looks amazing to me, but it is sold out right now on Overstock.  I really hope they can get it back in because it is 50% of the cost compared to QVC and other websites I have found it on.  I really have my heart set on it!

And I promise to be more regular about posting now that I am home until mid-June.
