I recently made a quick and easy update to a bare area in our carriage house that I wanted to share with you all today!

After giving our carriage house bedroom a little refresh earlier this year, there was another spot I walked by every day I was up there and felt it needed something, too. At the end of the little kitchenette hallway, there was this very blank wall and it all felt a bit sterile.

I contemplated just adding some art, but it’s a fairly sizable area and I felt like a little console table might be useful to house a catchall, some art, and just give some personality to the otherwise very plain spot.
I turned to Wayfair for their large selection of furniture. I wasn’t wanting to invest in an expensive piece here and I had pretty specific dimensions to fill the space without overwhelming it. Their site made it easy to find something that fit the parameters pretty quickly.
And here’s how the space looks now! I knew this scalloped rattan console table would add some much needed warmth to the space, and it fits so perfectly here between the wall and the window. I actually stole the abstract beach artwork we’ve owned for years from the bathroom to test out here. I love how it pulls both the blues from the cabinet and the warm tones from the rattan all together. If I ultimately decide to keep the art here, I’ll hang it on the wall to free up more space on the console table surface. I also still plan to add a bowl or dish to act as a dropzone catchall for guests.

You’ve likely seen this table in a number of my collages over the last year or so. I’ve always been so drawn to it, and am excited to finally have it in our home! I have other pieces from this same brand and have always been very happy with the quality. I love how the design is tapered at the top which helps it to not feel overwhelming in the space. There is still plenty of space for guests to roll suitcases in and out of the bedroom!

I’m so happy with how perfectly it works in this spot!

Coastal Console Table Finds
If you’re on the hunt for a console table, too, Wayfair has such a great selection. I love just how versatile a console table can be! We currently have four at our house which seems a bit crazy, but I also love to use them as sofa tables or anywhere you need a slim surface to set items on. Following are some of my top coastal console table picks from Wayfair.
