5 Simple Ways to Decorate for Spring

Happy March! If you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you likely know that I’m not a theme-y decorator when the seasons change. However, I love to make simple updates as the weather changes to make our room feels fresh and new. Today, I’m sharing five simple ways to decorate for spring. Then, I’ve teamed up with four other bloggers that will also be offering their tips and ideas, to bring you 25 spring decorating ideas to try. If you’re stopping in from Decor Gold Designs, welcome!

Following are five simple ways to decorate for spring without having to break the bank or put too much effort into it!

Refresh Your Throw Pillows

Next to a fresh coat of paint, throw pillows are one of my favorite ways to instantly refresh a space. As we come off winter, I love to add splashes of colors to our rooms with new throw pillows. I recently shared some of my favorite designer throw pillow sources, but sometimes all it takes is pulling out some pillows from years past! Or, even swapping out one pattern for another and leaving the remaining pillows as is.

LIVING ROOM SOURCES: Linen Slope Arm York Sofas | Spindle Chairs (similar here) | Coffee Table | Wide Stripe Pillows | Similar Paisley Pillows | Ticking Stripe Pillow | Striped Throw Blankets | Topiaries | Blue & White Pots | Wooden Dough Bowl | Faux Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree

Try a New Color Combo

Spring is one of the few seasons where I’m sometimes willing to branch out from my regular blue, green and neutral color scheme. Although those colors are typically still found, I will sometimes add in pinks or pale purples to change things up for the new season. Simply adding a new color to the mix in your home can instantly change the whole space, without having to make a big investment. Try some new throw pillows, artwork or flowers in a color that reminds you of spring.

SPRING HOME OFFICE SOURCES: DIY “Wood” Bead Chandelier | Desk Makeover | DIY Art + Frame | Linen Chairs | HomeGoods Blue Linen Chair (similar) | Drapes were a DIY I made from Windsor Smith’s Riad in Clove fabric | Target Feather Art {old} | Pier 1 Green Velvet Pillows

Add In Some Greenery

I believe that greenery, whether real or faux, adds life to any space. This especially holds true in the spring as we’re all anxiously waiting for plants to bud and bloom outside! A few clippings from the yard or some fake greenery stems in a vase instantly liven your space and make it feel more like spring! These faux greenery stems are my all-time favorite and look so lifelike! I have more of my favorite faux greenery shared here.

SPRING DINING ROOM SOURCES: Dining Table | Dining Chairs | Striped Rug (also available here) | Linear Chandelier (look for less here) | Gingham Plates | Water Hyacinth Chargers | Similar Table Runner | Similar Faux Tulips | Faux Greenery | Geometric Pillow | Art: HomeGoods

Bring Flowers Into the Picture

Spring instantly brings to mind thoughts of tulips, daffodils, cherry blossoms and other flowers. Fresh flowers instantly make a space feel happier, but sometimes they aren’t always an option. I recently invested in some faux tulips and faux peonies which are great items to use year after year. You can also bring floral into the picture with fabrics, artwork or other decor in your home!

Update Your Walls

Update your walls with a new paint color, art work, mirror or gallery wall to give your spaces a new look for spring. I recently found a few large pieces of oversized art at HomeGoods and I’m loving the instant update they provide to the spaces. Our new entryway art may be my favorite!

SPRING ENTRYWAY HALLWAY: Similar Bench | Block Print Pillow Cover | Console Table | Swing Arm Sconce Lights | Maidenhair Fern | Planters | Similar Mirror | Similar Lamps | Art: HomeGoods
