Happy Wednesday! In lieu of my Wednesday Watch List (which I’ll be sharing tomorrow with our Weekend Recap), today I’ve teamed up with the talented group of Styled + Set bloggers, hosted by Designthusiasm, to share our holiday entertaining tips and tablescapes. If you’re stopping in from Setting for Four, welcome!

Last year, I kept our dining room completely neutral for the holidays. You can see more of the look here. But this year, I decided to change things up and inject some color into the space! Christmas is likely the only time you’ll ever see me using red in our decor, but I love the festive vibe it adds! Mix in some plaids and I’m even more in love! You can get the flocked wreath on our hutch here.
We’re with Kurtis’ side of the family this year for Christmas and it’s been a tradition for a few years now for us to eat soup on Christmas. While not traditional, we love bringing a variety of homemade soups and chili and having much less mess in the kitchen to worry about! It makes clean-up a breeze and we get to spend less time cleaning and more time playing games and enjoying each others’ company!
So, while I don’t traditionally add bowls to my tablescapes, this year for Christmas it seemed like the perfect idea! I love these plaid bowls and think the pattern is timeless and can be used for years to come! I used the matching dinner plates along with the wood chargers I used for Thanksgiving. I also found these cute antler napkins and greenery napkin rings that I knew would look perfect with the plaid!
I’ve never hung anything from the chandelier before, and I love how it changes up the space so much! It also allows conversation to flow better without tall centerpieces getting in the way! I moved my beloved ‘It Is Well’ canvas from the staircase to the dining room for the holidays, and I’m really loving it here! I also love the rich red velvet runner paired with the olive green velvet pillows.
It’s so fun to have a Christmas tree in our dining room! This flocked Christmas tree was my first flocked tree last year, and we’re still loving it! And although my tree collar has sold out, I recently shared 20+ Christmas tree collars that are still available this year!
I especially love this view looking into our kitchen! It’s clear it’s the holidays, but you can still see my love for all things blue and neutral!
I hope you enjoyed my red plaid Christmas tablescape! I’ve listed all sources in the scrolling widget below.
The next stop on the tour is Maison de Cinq and her gorgeous green & white tablescape! Once you’re done there, be sure to check out all of the other gorgeous holiday entertaining posts below:
