My 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

Update: Be sure to check out my 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks!

I’m not sure who the genius was that decided to have Amazon Prime day and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale start in the same week – only two days apart! I’ll be honest, the Prime sale was stressing me out and I finally gave up! So, I’ve got my strategy lined up this year for the Nordstrom sale (always my favorite each year!) and I’m hoping that if I highlight some favorites for you below, it will make the sale less overwhelming to you!

My love for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale began at an early age. You know I love a good sale, but always this one in particular. It’s the only sale I know of that let’s you shop the next season’s clothing at a discount, rather than current season or past season. It’s the only time in summer I’ll even consider thinking about fall.

When I was younger I counted down the days so I could do my school shopping. Once we reached sixth grade or so, my parents would give my brother and I each a fixed budget of $200 to buy the clothes we needed for the coming school year. Sadly, we both wanted what the “cool kids” had and felt we needed name brands so our budget usually didn’t go far. My brother would usually blow about 75% of his budget on the latest Air Jordan’s and I’d head to the Gap or Nordstrom. But the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale always allowed my budget to go so much further and I wouldn’t have to spend as much of my babysitting funds on clothes!

Okay, enough storytelling. I think you get the point that I love this sale. This year I opted to get a Nordstrom card so that I could shop the sale early (today thru 7/20). I realized last year that nearly everything I wanted sold out in my size once the sale opened to the public (this year that date is 7/21). I hate getting new cards because we prefer to put everything on our SkyMiles card, but this year I felt it was justified. I refuse to have my items sell out again before I can get my hands on them! If you don’t already have a card, you can get a temporary number if you feel the need to shop today like I do. I’ve also learned that you can now buy online and pick up in store so that you know your size is available!

You can always come back to this page for reference, but I’ve also created a page in my blog header under the “Shop” category. Just click the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks tab from there. I’ll be updating regularly with new items that are added so be sure to check back!

Due to the website issues on 7/13, Nordstrom is offering 10x rewards (ten points for every dollar spent!) for all sales from 7/12 thru 7/14 at midnight! And if you used your triple point day for the sale already, they’re actually going to give it back to you. Bonus!

Click any of the images or links below for more information on each item (you may have to double-tap on mobile). To keep it less chaotic, I’ve also broken it down by women’s clothing, shoes, beauty & accessories, and home.

Top Anniversary Sale Picks – Women’s Clothing

Keep in mind most of my selections below come in various colors and patterns. I just love burgundy, navy and camel in the fall! I’m also finally purchasing this top this year (it’s actually not in the sale even though it’s on sale, so you can purchase it any time). It comes in seven colors and has over 1,300 really positive reviews – plus it’s under $30!

Top Anniversary Sale Picks – Shoes

So many great shoe finds this year! Booties are still going to be huge for fall and there are also great prices on some Tory Burch shoes/boots/sandals.

Top Anniversary Sale Picks – Beauty & Accessories

Top Anniversary Sale Picks – Home

Our dining room rug is currently 25% off and is still one of my favorite purchases in a long while!

My plan is to order as many of my top picks as possible, and then next week I’ll plan to post my findings on what I loved and what I had to return. Hopefully everything arrives before I head to Haven so you have the info before the sale opens to the public or the post will be pushed to the following week. You can also check out last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks to get an idea of what else may be to offer.

So, are there any amazing finds that I missed? What do you have your eye on? Happy shopping!

You don’t have to use your Nordstrom card to pay. If shopping online login then at checkout enter in your skymiles card. Same thing in store. They’ll ask to see the card to unlock the deals but will let you pay any way you want (I used a combo of gift cards and southwest card)
