Today I am excited to welcome Kylie from Absolutely Arksansas. This girl is hilarious and gorgeous and is in the midst of planning the final touches for her upcoming wedding. She has amazing hair and her makeup always looks perfect, so I asked Kylie if she would share some of her secrets today.
I’m so happy to be here today guest posting for the beautiful Sarah while she is living it up in Europe! Talk about jealousy!! My name is Kylie, and I blog over at Absolutely Arkansas, and I make Beauty YouTube videos at my channel here!
I don’t know about you, but sister, I never have enough time in the day! So it’s no secret that I really don’t have enough time in the weekend. On weekends I always have SO MUCH to pack into such a short 2 days, so I like to keep my makeup routine quick, long lasting, and under 10 minutes. The best part of this look is that it will last ALL DAY and it easily transitions into a night time look if you’re going out! Just add some eyeliner and darker lip color and boom! Date Night!
Let’s get started shall we?
So the best thing you can do to make your makeup last, is to make sure your skincare is on point! Make sure before you start, you wash, tone, and moisturize your face. You’ll then move on to face primer. I used Pixi Beauty face primer.
After your face is primed, dot your favorite CC cream all over your face, and blend with a damp beauty blender sponge. My favorite CC cream right now is Supergoop, an amazing sample I got in my Birchbox, (get your own here!)
I then move on to concealer, highlighting the areas of my face that the sun would naturally hit, under my eyes, down my nose, the “tree of life” on my forehead, on my cupids bow, and on my chin.
I use the pointy end of my beauty blender to stipple that into my foundation. After that, you’ll want to set your face makeup with a loose powder. My FAVORITE is by Salma Hayek Nuance, available at CVS.
After setting your face, it’s time to bring some color back, baby!
I LOVE Lollitint by Benefit. I live for face/lip tints lately, and when this showed up in a recent Ipsy Bag, (click the link to learn more!) I was so excited. Just paint a little onto a flat top foundation brush, and stipple onto the apples of your cheeks. And while you’re at it, dot some on your lips for color that lasts!
Since we are going into summer, I like to bronze up my skin a little bit. Too Faced Chocolate Solei is the all time best bronzer. It smells like real cocoa!
We’re halfway through! Dust and blend your bronzer in the placed marked in the above picture. Make sure you blend super well to keep your skin flawless. Let’s move onto those eyes, gorgeous!
I’m using Nuance Salma Hayek mineral eyeshadow duo in Sand. Just dust the light color all over your lid, and then work the brown into your crease for an effortless, natural look. Finish with your favorite mascara. (I can’t get enough of Too Faced Better Than Sex).
It’s SO important to finish your look with a bang, and I’m the biggest believer that no makeup look is complete without filling in your brows. First, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo to shape and fill in my brows, and I then move on to my Rimmel Scandaleyes to highlight my brow bone. Lock those brows in place with Anastasia Beverly Hills brow gel. (The BEST brow gel of all time, ever.)
After that, I like to take Mac Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle and lightly brush it on my cheek bones, and use my finger to place a little in my tear duct and inner corner. It really helps give your face a pretty glow.
Before we’re all done, I use Baby Lips medicated lip balm, which gives my lips a little shine, and also really brings out the color of the Lollitint. To ensure my makeup lasts all day, I give my face a quick spray with Mac Fix + to lock that makeup down. (It’s like hairspray for your face!)
And….Ta-Da!
10 minutes, 28 seconds! That’s my kind of weekend makeup! SOOO easy, and it really lasts all day long!
