Well, I am officially ready to be moved into our new house! Ideas are constantly spinning through my head about decorating, paint colors, furniture layouts, etc. – while I am sure my husband can only think of the boxes we have to pack and the pains involved in the process of moving.
As I mentioned here, I have promised to try to only make minimal updates for the first six months or so when we move in {paint and kitchen island lights only}.
As much as I would have loved to buy the Benson Pendants while they were on sale at Restoration Hardware, I searched high and low for a good knock-off. Â Turns out, the RH version may be a knock-off because most were even more expensive. Â However, I had to stop in Home Depot earlier this week, and found a reasonable light that has a similar look – for MUCH less – I can buy all three for the price of one RH light. Â I wasn’t sold on it completely until I saw a review online showing the lights hung in someone’s kitchen. Â I think this may be the one.
I played around with Photoshop {I’m obviously a total pro} and turned the walls grayish {much darker than I want but my skills are limited for swapping colors in Photoshop – the color used on this was Benjamin Moore Classic Gray which reads MUCH lighter in photos I have seen} and haphazardly placed the lights. I already like it SO much better.  Down the road when the backsplash gets replaced for something much lighter, I am confident it will look amazing!
I then swapped out the wall colors in the living room and already love the grayer tone SO much more {although I may go more greige than gray like these photos suggest}.
Do you think the grayish tone neutral is the way to go? I’m just so excited to start making this home “ours”! Mid-December just can’t get here soon enough!
