I LOVE my Expedits {the desk and bookshelf systems we got at IKEA last year}.  However, I feel like mine are always so messy – which, in reality, they are.  Even when the desktops are clean {which isn’t all that often} they still look really messy when you look at them head-on.  I think it has a lot to do with all the books and magazines and I realize a lot just comes with the territory when you have exposed shelves.

Yet, when I see the millions of others out there that other people have they all look so cute.  They almost look like focal points or pieces of art.  How do so many people get their books, fabrics, photo boxes, etc. to all match?  I am trying to work on a solution and am using these photos as my inspiration.  It will involve baskets and some white magazine holders I had picked up at IKEA when we bought the Expedits.  Look at all this organized clutter.

I need to find a way to make all of my clutter more aesthetically pleasing like the examples above.  This may be a LONG project!
