I hope you all had a great weekend! As hard as it is to go back to work every Monday morning, I don’t have any full work weeks in the office the entire month of April which definitely feels great. Plus the weather is getting so much better, so that may be the real reason I feel not as sad for Mondays 🙂
Friday night we went to the Zac Brown Band concert. We saw them last summer in Denver at Coors Field and they always put on a great show!
On Saturday morning, I shared some great home decor sales (many of which are still going on). You can also read more about my finds at a local pop-up shop in that post. I had a total blast shopping there on Thursday night.
My husband had two fantasy baseball drafts on Saturday, so I had a few hours to work on some projects. I’ll be sharing more Thursday, but somehow I convinced myself to start a decent-sized makeover. While we’re in the throes of our backyard makeover. #genius
I ended up winning a bid on eBay for the Peter Dunham fig leaf fabric I’ve been lusting after for some time. I can’t even wait until it arrives. I was leaning more towards the faded on hemp colorway, but won the original on white. Granted, I got it for less than retail, but the best part was that I didn’t have to worry about the five yard minimum that you find on most other sites. I see fig leaf pillows making a grand appearance in our house for summer 🙂
I’ve rounded up a few other items that use this fabric as well. You can also check out my post dedicated to all things fig leaf. Click any of the items below to learn more.
Sunday we got up early and made a trip to Home Depot for another DIY project I have coming up and then wrapped up some grocery shopping at Target. One thing I can tell you right now – our laundry room won’t look like this for much longer! Nothing crazy drastic, but the room will definitely see some changes soon. I’ll share more on Thursday!

By the time we got home the weather was absolutely beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed brats and beer for lunch. Our first legit grilled food of the season, and it honestly couldn’t have tasted better!
We then took a little field trip to the canyon between the pool walls and ground level. We walked around the pool perimeter about four feet below ground level, so it actually felt like we were in the pool. It was pretty surreal. It helped to visualize where we need to prioritize tree placement to give us as much privacy when we’re in the pool come summertime.
Just being outside in the mid-70’s was so good for us. I was feeling nice and decided to let the cats plan in the courtyard a bit. My clematis is already leafing out, and the honeysickle on the otherside of the courtyard wall is already going wild! I probably need to string some lines for it to climb on now that it has clearly outgrown the trellises I have.
While we were outside, we also had to take care of some broken birch branches that were crazy high up. Nothing like standing eight feet in the air with a 12 foot pole over your head trying to saw tree branches down. I mean, I imagine it’s bad, since all I did was hold the ladder for my husband!
Oh, I also ended up receiving my striped pompom stools over the weekend, and they are every bit as cute as I expected them to be! They’ll be making an appearance on the blog next week. I will say that the colors are a bit bolder in real life. The blue is definitely more of a cobalt/navy and the yellow is a very saturated primary yellow. And I did see these striped throws in person on Sunday and they are the perfect lightweight throws. Now I’m just deciding if I should change things up and get the green color or stick with my usual navy 🙂
I hope you all have a great week!

I love reading your blog! 🙂 What company is installing your pool? I live in Mission Park and dreaming of a pool install! (Just need to convince the hubby) LOL

Haha! Good luck with that. Convincing my husband was the biggest project of all 😉 We are using Phoenix Pools and the designer for the whole space is Justin at Kloos Kutters.

I can’t wait to see the finished outdoor space! Can you tell me the source of your outdoor sconce pictured above?

Thank you! We’re really excited too 🙂 I got those outdoor lights from Lowe’s a few years back but I’m pretty sure they still carry them. They are really reasonably priced too!
