Weekend Loot and A Fabric Sale Update

Decorating Ideas, Tips and Trends, Fabric Store

This was one of those weekends where everywhere I went, there was something I have been searching for for quite some time.

The biggest purchases of the weekend?

  • A chair from HomeGoods – I Instagramed my love for the chair several weeks back. Back then it was $399 and I still thought it was a decent deal {retail was $749}. However, when I stopped in yesterday, it was on clearance for $149. The chair is huge! I was hoping to use it as a cool desk chair, but it feels a little too large and the color clashes with the gray-tone on my desk. It is bluer in life than these pictures make it appear. But I love it. The cushion is down, it has caster feet, killer nailhead details. Perfection.
  • Seven glass bottles/vases/vessels from TJ Maxx. Admittedly, this is a bit much. However, I find these look best in groupings and they look great in every room. As I mentioned here, it had been years since I had found any. These ranged in price from $4.99 to $12.99 – I think I got all seven for less than $40 which felt like a total steal!
  • A fiddle leaf fig! I asked the local nursery where I purchased this if fiddle leaf figs were safe for cats. The specialist told me it would be fine {but that it could be poisonous if a cat were to literally eat their body weight in leaves}. When I got home, my husband and I did a little more research and there are tons are varying answers. I may have to move it to a non-cat room {although they don’t appear to have any interest in it} until I can find a firm answer. I’m not wanting to take any chances. I would love to hear if any of you have found a definite answer. I haven’t transferred it to the pot until I get an official answer to make it easier to move around at this point.
I’m definitely digging my new view from my desk!
And, a quick update on the fabric sale possibility. It sounds as thought there is a lot of interest and I received multiple emails requesting to sell items ahead of time. In fairness to all, my plan is to post next week with details on the sale {start date/time, etc.} ahead of time. The sale will then start are day or two later and it will be first come, first served. I have quite a bit to sell, so I am sure there will be something for everyone. I’m off to St. Louis for the week for business, but I’ll be sharing my fall planters later this week!

I was thisclose to buying a fiddle leaf but didn’t because of our cats. I hear the leaves are so big and thick they don’t care for them though. Let us know what you find out!
