Wednesday Watch List

Wednesday Watch List

Welcome to this week’s Wednesday Watch List, where I share the random things that captured my attention and stole my heart over the past week!

1 – You guys know I love finding local-to-me home tours, and this Alys Beach home tour from Paloma Contreras is no exception! I absolutely love the architecture in Alys Beach, so I love getting a peek into some of the homes that are only a quick five minute drive from our house. I particularly love the kitchen, dining and pool areas in this home! And I’m really loving that large roman shade used in the kitchen over multiple windows!

2 – It’s hard to beat a good classic that lasts (and is still in style) year after year! If you’re not familiar with AYR, they’re a brand worth checking out! They’re an independent clothing brand founded in New York City in 2014 and the acronym stands for All Year Round, taking a season-less, timeless approach to design. They were originally founded as an alternative to fast fashion, and has become a trusted resource for anyone who values high quality and good design. I wanted to mention them today because the AYR Memorial Day Sale, with items marked up to 60% off, starts now! Although not on sale, I have their cotton oxford (an absolute classic – does run large) and these denim shorts (love the loose fit in the thighs – I found them true to size) and can’t say enough good things about them! Here are a few items from the sale worth checking out. Tap any of the images below for more info on each of the items shown.

3 – I fully realize Tory Burch Miller sandals were the “it” thing a decade+ ago. BUT, they’re still my favorite “dressy” flip flops to wear. I’d be embarrased to admit how many pairs I’ve collected over the years. And with jelly sandals being the hot item this summer and last, Tory Burch just dropped these jelly Miller sandals yesterday (along with all of these other jelly Splash collection finds that include sandals, bags, watch straps, and more) and they’re all so cute! They’ve had the mini Miller jellies for years, but this regular sized Miller is so perfect in the five colors they’re offering! You can also find them here.

4 – I was sent samples of some U Beauty products last fall and since then, I’ve become a huge convert! I still use face wipes at night (currently these ones since we don’t have a Costco membership any longer) and then without fail, I use this resurfacing compound followed by the eye concentrate and then the hydrating moisturizer. In the winter, I was also using the overnight barrier treatment but don’t find it as necessary in the warmer/more humid months. I also mix in these peel pads I’ve used for ages once or twice a week! Completely unsolicited, Kurtis mentioned a month or so back that he felt like my pores were much less noticeable than he remembers them being and I give all the credit to U Beauty! You can use my custom code LIFEONVIRGINIASTREET20 for 20% off most of their items sitewide! Here are the three “must” items I packed along with me to Italy. This duo is a great way to try my top two picks!

Here are some of their other bestsellers worth checking out. I’ve tried all of them other than the intensive face oil firsthand at this point and love them all. You can use my custom code LIFEONVIRGINIASTREET20 for 20% off these items too!

5 – I just saw that the Majesty Palms are only $14.98 at Lowe’s this weekend for their Memorial Day Sale! That’s $10 off and such a great price for the impact they make. I use them almost every single year in my planters (and have for over a decade, as I used them in Omaha too). They do so well in so many climates! If you’ve shopped palms elsewhere you know they are usually not cheap at all so the $14.98 price is a steal! When I share this sale on Instagram I hear a lot of great feedback so figured I’d include it in today’s Wednesday Watch List since I know so many will likely be planting this weekend! I currently have two of the palms on our front porch and then two out back (shown below) that have petunias, a sweet potato vine, sedum, and asparagus grass along the base. Side note: if you order online, they can usually deliver same day or next day in most areas which is so helpful for large palms or dirty plant containers! You can see all of their other Memorial Day sales here. This is the plant food I’ve used for ages and swear by! You just sprinkle it on once a month or so and water it in and you’re good to go!
