Wednesday Watch List

Fashion and Beauty, Wednesday Watch List

Welcome to this week’s Wednesday Watch List, where I share things that have been on my mind this week! And I’ll warn you, the colder weather and the fact that it’s November makes Christmas on the forefront of my mind! Gotta plan ahead, right?!

1 – I came across this darling DIY Holiday Card Display on Pinterest of the weekend and I plan to recreate it before the holiday season arrives. I always try to find a fun and creative way to display all of the cute cards we receive and this seems like an very doable project that can be accomplished cheaply and quickly {and can be customized to whatever size you need}!

2 – There’s a reason this album is doing so well. It really is so good. ‘Blank Space’ is my current favorite. Taylor has totally redeemed herself in my eyes. After buying the first three singles on iTunes, they totally conned me into pre-ordering the album. I still can’t believe Taylor has made it into two of my Wednesday Watch Lists already…. #teenybopper

3 – In our nine years of marriage, I have yet to ever buy stockings even though Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. I have always loved ones from Pottery Barn because I feel like they are timeless, but I’d always wait until after Christmas to try and by them from there or Target or wherever. But, as you can imagine, selections are never great at that point. Pottery Barn is actually doing 20% off their stockings right now making some of my favorites only $13-15 each. I feel like that is doable for a classic decorating piece. I also love that you can add monogramming! PBKids also has a huge selection of stockings right now. These are my current top-two contenders:

4 – Speaking of stockings, another item on my Christmas list this year will be these Hunter Cable Knit Cuff Welly Socks. I had bought this pair of boots earlier this year for our trip to Europe and I loved them. They are definitely heavy and awkward for packing but I didn’t regret bringing them. Now I can’t wait to make them useful in the winter! The socks are definitely pricey, but I feel like it basically creates a second pair of boots. My logic is magical like this.

5 – And simply because it seems wrong to have this many Christmas related posts so early in the year, I’m going to re-share this post I did a few years back with a round-up of Thanksgiving drinks. I made the Caramel Apple Martini that year and it was so good…although it made everyone a bit loopy 😉 But seriously, how can you go wrong with a caramel rim?!

I have to comment, because it’s like you are in my brain today! I have been stalking those quilted velvet stockings from Pottery Barn and decided to finally bite the bullet and bought them yesterday! I’ve been wanting to replace our cartoony mismatched stockings for years, but never saw anything that I liked or that was in my budget. When I saw the 20% off sale at Pottery Barn I did a happy dance, because it made them actually in my budget! Here’s another tip; I signed up for their email list and received a coupon about 10 minutes later, which saved me an extra 10%. So with the 20% sale, my 10% coupon and free shipping I saved enough that I was able to add monogramming to each stocking, which felt like a total luxury. And you are right – they are truly timeless, so even though it was still a splurge I know we will love them for years. I ordered the green ones for our kids, and the white ones for my husband and me. If anyone is interested in those stockings hurry because the sale ends today! Good luck:)

We are thinking alike this week! I pinned the same Christmas card display and downloaded the Taylor Swift album! And if I had Hunter rain boots then I’d be all over those socks! Instead I’ll be trucking around in my Sorel’s.

My obsession with the new TS album is quite embarrassing. It’s all I can listen too. Even my kid is singing “are we out of the woods, are we out of the woods…” LOL
