Sunbathin’ Beauties

Cats

Miraculously, the sun decided to show its face today.  But don’t let it fool you – right now it is 3 degrees out side but really -7 with the wind chill (actually the warmest it has been in about four days).

The kids love the sun and haven’t seen it for quite some time.  Today I opened the blinds in the bonus room and all four ran up and started cleaning themselves.  I think they like the warmth of the sun but for whatever reason they all decided it was time for a bath.  Also got some shots of them napping afterwards.  I messed around with my telephoto lens and have found that it works better for taking photos of the cats – I can then stand far away but still get the details I want.  Its also amazing what a little natural sunlight and no flash can do for your photos!  Get ready for photo overload!
Earlier today I was working on my blurb blog book for 2008 (I know it only took me a year).  All four kids were sleeping on their “bed” – some blankets and pillows I piled up on our leather sectional in the bonus room.  The first photo is one I took yesterday – Bearcat just didn’t want to get too close to the others.  The second is the one I took today and is one of the very few photos I have of all four cats together.
I hope to have the 2008 book finished soon (it started out at 210+ pages but I think I have it down to 180).  Thank heavens Picassa collages came along – the 2008 book has many pages that are solid photos.  The collages should help me keep my 2009 book under 150 pages!
