sublime + 311

Last night we had the suite at TD Ameritrade Park {the baseball stadium} for the Sublime and 311 concert.  It reminded me SO much of high school, cruising in my friend’s Jeep with the Sublime CD sophomore year going to lunch or cruising the boulevard.  Oh, the memories!  Isn’t it so funny how music can bring to mind so many memories that you haven’t thought of in ages, but the instant you hear the notes it all comes back? Maybe that’s just me.  I’ve always been a Sublime fan since that time, and they were fun to watch {new lead singer and all}.311 also put on a great show {I’m pretty much in love with their lead singer now}.  They are from Omaha originally, so it was a welcome home party of sorts.  They were really fun to watch and listen to.  Sometimes you forget how sheltered you are in the suites.  As we left, I quickly realized we didn’t fit in with the crowd in attendance {we were with the actuaries, nonetheless, which only amplified the differences}.  We were some of the few without tattoos, ear gauges, bikini tops/punk clothes, suspicious smoke emitting from our mouths, etc.

Photos are from my phone so I apologize in advance for the quality.

In reality, this is a concert I never would have gone to if it weren’t for the free tickets – however, it turned out to be a really great concert and fun summer night!  I think the Red Sky Festival has potential once it gains some momentum in future years.
