spring pillows

I have been sewing the last few weeks to make some spring pillows. {following the tutorial I outlined here for easy envelope back or front pillows} The pillow inserts FINALLY went on sale at Hancock fabric on Thursday so I stocked up and was able to see the finished products. I was also able to get some much better cutting supplies so the last two I made went much quicker (and were much more accurate). I think the pillows turned out really cute and I figure I can use them from February through April {Valentine’s, spring, & Easter} and can then put all the red stuff back out. I got the flower directions here on Heather Bailey’s website (they are intended for hair bows, etc. but I thought they would be cute on my pillows). They were so easy to make but took a LOT more fabric than I expected. I still have to make duplicates of some of these since we have three sides to our sectional couch. Here are the final results (the photos are a little dark because I took them early this morning and the flash washed the colors out too much).

I love the way that you incorporated the different fabrics into these pillows. I recently started a Thursday link-up party (yes, today:), and I would really love to see this post and/or any others you would like to include. I am at allthingswithpurpose.com. Hope to see you there and for many more Thursday’s to come!!
