Although one of my few NYE resolutions wasn’t to start eating better and working out again, the truth is, I really need to get back to it. Like every other person that has ever made a NYE resolution. I think the packing/move was actually worse on me than the holidays {I can’t remember the last time we ate out so much} so I have got to get back at it. These extra lbs are no bueno.

I had such great success with Jillian Michaels’ programs last year, that I intend to use that again. I have never stuck to anything like I did with the Jillian programs last winter and I love that each workout is only about 30 minutes – and her meal plans are good and easy to stick with.  I’m still just determine if I should use 30 Day Shred or Ripped in 30 and my DVD player has yet to be hooked up. Talk about a lame excuse not to get started.  Major procrastination on my part.

We bought a Vitamix a few months back, and with the exception of the past few weeks, we used it daily. It is such a great feeling to get most of your fruits and veggies for the day all in one smoothie. Ours typically consist of spinach, carrots, kale, greek yogurt, water, flax seeds, blueberries, banana and one or two more fruits {we then split the batch in half and each have 20 oz total}. Sometimes we add a little agave nectar to mask the kale/veggie taste.  We have both been very happy with this purchase and have actually become addicted to our little smoothies!

We are headed to Atlantis in the Bahamas the end of February and then I am in Phoenix and Las Vegas the two weeks following, so if that doesn’t get my procrastinating butt in gear, I’m really in trouble! Here’s to a healthier 2013 – hopefully sooner, rather than later!
