Salt Lake Parade of Homes: Home #1

Home Tour

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you saw that I went to the Salt Lake Parade of Homes while we were in Utah last week.

Growing up in Utah, my love of houses began at a very early age, and that love only continued to grow each year. I was that kid in junior high that took my camera to the Parade of Homes and photographed every home and space I loved so that I could look back on them at later dates. Remember, this is coming from the same kid that, in fourth grade, bought graph paper to draw floorplans and house elevations. I just really loved houses!

Clearly that love hasn’t died. Today I’m going to share my favorite from this year’s Parade of Homes. It is rather unique in that it wasn’t a new build. Introducing, Home #1:

The home was constructed in the 1920’s but the interior was completely renovated and a 2,400 square foot addition was added. All original doors and windows were reused {so charming!}, the original Juliet balcony in the living room was kept, and a raised pool with infinity edge and indoor/outdoor cabana were all added.

Architect: James L. Carroll and Associates. Builder: CD Construction. Landscape: Eschenfelder Landscaping. Interior Design: Accents Studio and Enzy Design.

Total Square Footage: 5,420. Bedrooms/bathrooms: 4/5. Price with lot: $1,950,000.

You entered the home off of this living room. I loved the gorgeous doors that opened to the balconies.

I obviously loved the kitchen with the white subway tile, gray island, white cabinets. Swoon. The countertops were honed granite which I had never seen before. I am definitely loving this look over that of polished granite!

A long hallway overlooked a gorgeous courtyard with a pool. The hallway led to the powder bath, the laundry room, mudroom, and my favorite feature of all: a cabana that could be turned into an outdoor space with the gorgeous sliding wall/door.

Going upstairs, there was a master suite and a bedroom. I only captured the bathroom in the one bedroom and the master suite area:

Moving down to the basement there were a few more bedrooms, a living room and a wine cellar.  I love how this paneling was installed in this bathroom on  the diagonal.

As you can see, this home just oozed charm and personality. I loved it so much! I’ll be back later this week with more of my favorites from the SLC Parade of Homes. Lots of fun inspiration and eye candy!
