Queen Guest Bedroom: Almost There!

Room Makeovers + Design Plans

It’s been almost a month since my last update about the queen guest bedroom updates {the original ‘before’ photos are found here}. This weekend, I managed to finish painting the remaining walls, we hung the sunburst mirror, and I also finished sewing the pillows in the fabric I had selected {plus made an extra one in Celerie Kemble’s Betwist in Bear}. To read more on the board and batten wall treatment, go here.

I think I’ll hold off on doing any additional full room shots until the room is finalized. But here’s a little sneak peak for those that don’t follow me on Instagram:

Bedroom pillows in Schumacher's Imperial Trellis, Kelmscott Manor, and Betwixt

I used the same tutorial for all of these pillows that I used here. Pillows from front to back are: 12×24 Schumacher Celerie Kemble Betwixt in Bear; 22×22 Schumacher Kelmscott Manor; 26×26 Schumacher Kelly Wearstler Imperial Trellis.

Updated Queen Guest Room To-Do List:
  • Paint window trim
  • Paint baseboards
  • Paint door casings and doors
  • Board and batten wall behind bed {completed here}
  • Find headboard {the DIY version no longer works with the board & batten}
  • Add seating to room
  • Find a larger bedside lamp {since the room can only accommodate one nightstand}
  • Order roman shades
  • Find drapes
  • Find fabric for throw pillows
  • Make throw pillows
  • Change out all the outlets/light switches to white
  • New chandelier to replace the boob light
  • Paint walls
  • Hang sunburst mirror
The to-do list is finally starting to come to an end! Shouldn’t be much longer now. For the headboard, I am leaning towards a navy fabric with nailheads. I really think there needs to be some color against the white wall. Stay tuned!

    By the way, if you ever find a good deal of the Schumacher Avebury Floral Vine fabric let me know. I am looking for 1/2 yard of it for a large lumbar pillow for my bedroom.
