Mark this day on your calendars. I finally bought my first wallet. My old next door neighbor had given me this Kate Spade wallet from Last Chance (the Nordstrom return center in Phoenix) more than ten years ago, and up until today I was still using it:

I know you are likely laughing at this point at the sad state of my wallet – I’m just keepin’ it real. The crazy part is I had just “cleaned” it out! It pretty much has not been able to snap shut since the day I got it.
Well, after being a cheapskate for the past decade, I finally broke down and bought a new wallet yesterday. My sister-in-law and I decided to make the 3 1/2+ hour trek (each direction) to the outlet malls in eastern Iowa. Coach was having a great sale plus we had an additional 20% off coupons. I finally gave in and got a “real” wallet. I find it hard to believe they can charge nearly as much for a wallet as they do for a purse, but since I use it daily (and have never actually bought one in the past) I decided to go for it (I was already getting the matching purse).
The husband laughed when he saw my new one and said there was NO way all my crap would fit in the new wallet. Well, it did after I removed this:
Its amazing how much room five years worth of insurance cards and expired credit cards take up! I had always wondered where my University of Utah student ID card, Keva Juice punch card and a Hyatt room key had gone….I clearly do not like taking the time to shred old/expired cards.
Here is my new, beautiful, clean wallet! I love that it zips…no more dealing with pesky snaps that don’t stay closed!
At this rate, I will likely be in my 40’s before I get another one so it was worth every penny I spent on it!
