Music Chairs

I thrifted these adorable wooden chairs with a music symbol on the back and refinished them.

Remember these little beauts I bought on Craig’s List last October for $7?  These adorable wooden chairs!

Two chairs with striped seats and music notes on the back.
The two chairs in the garage.

Well, the one on the right was deemed a fake {by Kurtis and me} and was falling a part.  So, I painted the one on the left right away based upon the inspiration found here.  I simply used a satin soft white spray paint to finish the job. And then it sat in our basement.  For almost a full year.

Today it was pulled from the depths of the dungeon and I decided to put my IKEA fabric to use.  Here is the chair after the paint, but prior to the new fabric, modeled by Henley:

One of the chairs painted white with a ripped seat.
It was a little creepy pulling off that fabric and padding.  I only kept the board itself and then used fresh new batting, the new IKEA fabric and a staple gun to come up with this design!
The chair painted white with a green and white striped pad.
I was all sorts of productive this weekend.  You can see in the picture above I even managed to finally buy frames for those IKEA prints I bought when we were in Salt Lake two years ago!  I just need to find a place to hang them up now.  Hopefully that will occur before another two years are up.  I love the fabric and prints ~ its a nice way to add the grass green color to the room without the commitment of paint!  I also love that the prints and the dark wicker baskets help to make the furniture look more clean and organic, rather than modern, like the Expedits tend to be.  Now the goal is to finish organizing the large Expedit!
