A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour

Christmas, Home Tour

Today I’m sharing the first of two home tours I will be doing this year! {Update: you can see Part II of this year here}. If you followed along any of my home tours last year {Part I and Part II} you saw that I only used the traditional red and green Christmas colors in the dining room – and used shades of blue everywhere else. This year, I was the exact opposite and went with red and green everywhere other than in the office, where I kept the blue and greens going. If you’re interested in seeing the more neutral side of our home, you can check out this past summer’s home tour.

I’ve tried to include source information for as much as possible along the way, but if you see something you like that I missed, just leave a comment or shoot me an email.

In the entryway {the hardest place in my house to photograph}, I didn’t make a ton of changes, but I did update the throw pillow in the basket {a pillow cover I made last year from a HomeGoods tablecloth}. I also added some cableknit boot socks to my Hunter boots and stuffed them with some greenery and pine cones. Not traditional, I know, but I love it!

Cute Christmas entryway decor idea with boots filled with holiday greenery.

Walking down the hallway to the main living area, I hung some LED light wreaths from HomeGoods on the sliding doors with burlap wired ribbon. I also hung my Doxology canvas over the bench and added our nativity scene {from Hobby Lobby} on the hallway table along with a O Holy Night print.

Our cute linen and wood bench is a favorite recent find and I love decorating it with seasonal pillows! I love the combo with our entryway table.

As you come down the hallway, you enter our living room. In the living room, there is an explosion of deer and plaid. And I totally love it!

The plaid pillows were HomeGoods scores this year {they are Ralph Lauren brand for those interested}. The plaid looks so cute with the red velvet pillow covers and the large brown velvet covers came with our couch.

The Christmas Card Holder was a recent DIY and looks perfect next to my beloved ‘O Holy Night’ canvas.

It all looks so festive and fresh! The lamps will be featured in a post later this week but they are the perfect neutral accessory in the space.

I wrapped a red scarf around the metal deer head to give it an even more festive feel!

Christmas Home Tour 2014 Living Room and Dining Room

I’ll be sharing the full dining room reveal next week when I’m back with Part II of my Christmas Home Tour. But today, I wanted to share my festive bar cart.

I am in love with my gold bar cart, and this year, in addition to housing all the “essentials”, I added a few fun elements. The glass canister is filled with green moss and a variety of red ornaments, and I filled my cork vase with these gorgeous LED branches with pinecones.

I also threw in some red striped straws and white gold polka dot coasters are from Lulu & Georgia. The silver mirrored star ornament and large wire basket are from HomeGoods. In the basket, I added a red velvet pillow and faux fox throw from Restoration Hardware.

In our master bedroom, I kept things fairly simple by adding a wreath over the bed {you can find the tutorial for my Winter Wreath for Clearance Garland here}. A fur throw at the end of the bed also helps to add some texture and warmth on those cold Nebraska nights! I have yet to ever do a full reveal on our bedroom, because as you can tell, the ceiling is still very much not-white. It completely messes with the wall color at this point. One of these days I’ll finally wrap it all up!

I love the combo of my trellis and floral pillows, even for the holidays!

Lastly, I’m sharing my office {which is actually right off the entryway}. The furniture is a bit tight {I placed our tree between the two linen chairs we have in the room} but I love the coziness the glow from the tree brings to the space and I love that our tree can be seen from the street! Other than the tree, I didn’t do any additional decorating in this room. For me, the glowing lights complete it! And because it always comes up when I show a picture of my office, I made the curtains using Windsor Smith’s Riad in Kravet. The chandelier and art are both DIY projects. The blue wing chair, glass bottles and lamp are all from HomeGoods.

Love your Christmas decor. I’m sticking to my favorite rustic theme this year but definitely thinking of throwing those pops of red in here and there. You know, just so I can leave it all out to Valentine’s Day? I think that’s reasonable (; haha But in all seriousness, I love what you did to the place!

I *need* those plaid pillows! Wonder if I can whip some up myself?
