Dining Room Planning: Round Gold-Toned Mirror Options

Decorating Ideas, Tips and Trends

Here are all the plans for my dining room, plus some gorgeous round gold toned mirror options!

I hope you all had a great weekend! For the record: I need a lot more three-day weekends in my life. It is amazing what I can accomplish with that one extra day at home. I’m excited to share with you some of my house projects over the upcoming week or two. I even finished one project that I started 58 weeks ago {according to my Instagram images}. For reals. Moving on!

I’ve ultimately decided that in the dining room, I want a large round gold-toned mirror to hang above the buffet table. I think the soft, round look will look better with all the other angular elements in the room.

At some point, I plan to sand down the buffet table for a more white-washed wood look and I think the warm gold tones in a mirror will play nice off of the textured natural wood. If you remember, I used to have a mirror hanging where the art now hangs, but I felt like moving a mirror above the buffet table will help reflect even more bright light into the space since it will be facing our sliding doors.

My main criteria for a mirror was that it had to be large {minimum of 30″ diameter} and had to be impactful, interesting. If it is plain, I only want a thin frame, for a more modern, current look. And lastly, it has to be fairly affordable – which can be tough for mirrors this size! Here are some of my favorites so far:

Before I get into the details on these lovely favorites, here is a reminder of the space as it stands – definitely still a work in progress! The gold mirror would go on the wall to the right in the image below.

Now, on to my thoughts for each of these options:

1 – This mirror is technically brass {Tork Brass Dripping Mirror} but it may be my leading favorite – mostly because of the second image below. How perfect does the mirror look in that dressing space?!

2 – I like this Simple Hoop Mirror because of the added ring at the top.

3 – This Kichler Wall Mirror is a fun take on the popular sunburst mirrors. I like the cleaner look for this space though.

Check out the fun shape of the Kichler wall mirror.

4 – This Gilt Minimalist Mirror may be ideal because it is fairly affordable {it was recently just 20% off over President’s Day weekend, so hopefully it will go on sale again soon} and it is HUGE at 38″ diameter! Maximum impact.

This gilt minimalist mirror is perfect for any space.

5 – The Kichler Kayla Mirror is more than I was wanting to spend, however, I do feel like it adds that special wow factor. I’m seriously attracted to anything that looks like a nature inspired branch or twig.

Stunning branch and twig motif makes this round mirror stand out.

6 – I love this Thin Texture Brass Round Mirror because of that added dimension with the texture in the frame.

Look at the beautiful accents on this thin textured brass round mirror.

7 – Although this Quinn Wall Mirror is technically bronze, I feel like it has a pretty warm-tone {not that black shade a lot of bronze can take on} so I feel it would also work well in the space.

This simple round mirror looks elegant on any wall with a modern touch.

8 – This San Mariano Starburst Mirror was originally my favorite, but the price is just hard to justify. Although #3 is quite as stunning, I feel like for the price, it would be good enough!

This Starburst mirror is a stunning accent piece in any room of your home.

For more info the space check out the image below and read the details of my fancy design board I created for the space. Which round gold-toned mirror is your favorite? Anyone know of some other great options? I’m really struggling with this one! As a side-note, I’ve made zero progress is finalizing fabric for the window coverings either!

I love 1, 2, 4, and 6. They’re all so beautiful. I’m also jealous you had off work yesterday! Leaving downtown to head to work I was bummed by how empty the streets were.

Love this roundup Sarah. I just used the Tork mirror in a client project and it’s fabulous. But it’s great to see all these other unique options and they are now filed away “for future reference!”

I love mirror #3! It is the perfect amount of detail. Very similar to #8 but $130.00 cheaper. 🙂

To find a great mirror at at a great price, I would stalk Homegoods & TJ Maxx. I am sure you already thought of that though :). Here’s an option from Kirkland’s but it may be too detailed: http://m.kirklands.com/product/Mirrors-Wall-Decor/Mirrors/Decorative-Mirrors/Distressed-Gray-Mirrored-Panel-Mirror-375-in/pc/2283/c/2450/sc/3056/178738.uts.

So many beautiful choices Sarah – so hard to decide!! It is so hard to choose fabric for window treatments too, isn’t it? I think my favorite might be the second mirror, though… But it does remind me a little bit of a porthole window for some reason?!? That’s probably what I like about it!! Lol

I love the direction you are taking with this makeover…it feels so calming and a little bit modern coastal. My favorite mirrors are the plain thin frames, and the sunburst ones. The plain ones have a little bit more minimalist modern look, and the sunburst a bit more glammy. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of your choices though, really. Maybe pound the pavement and see if you can find a good deal at TJ Maxx or Homegoods? At least that way you can take it home and try it on, and return it to the store if you change your mind. Good luck;)

The Gilt mirror is the best overall beauty considering the price, but the hoop mirror has my vote for the ring detail. I wondering how that could be achieved with the Gilt mirror? Is there any way to attach a black hoop at the top of the Gilt Mirror? Just an idea, but it has my creative juices humming. Going to have to visit the hardware store for some diy inspiration. Love the look of your board, it’s going to be so pretty! Glad to see that someone else has my difficulty picking a fabric. How can it be so hard? Good luck! Can’t wait to see more.

I found these ring pulls from Kohler. KOHLER K-99685-HF3 Jacquard Ring Pull, Black on Amazon. This could work for me! Thanks for the inspiration!
