Christmas Tour of Homes and Link Party

Christmas, Home Tour

I will show you how I decorated my home this year for the holidays!

Welcome to my second Christmas Tour of Homes this year. I’m definitely making up for the fact that we didn’t decorate last year with our move to the new house. For those of you that visited my first tour, I have added in additional rooms to keep everything fresh! To check out all the tours, head on over to Rachel’s for links to all ten stops on the tour. And be sure to link up to our Christmas Tour link party at the end of my tour!

If this is your first time here, welcome! I would encourage you to visit my first tour for additional photos and source information.

Our entire neighborhood was asked to wrap all the trees in the parkway in white lights. It looks beautiful as you drive through our neighborhood at night. During the day…not so much when you see the cords across the sidewalks 😉

The outside of the house with snow on the ground and trees with lights.

I love changing my front porch out seasonally. The fresh greens this winter were from Costco and the birch logs were from a local nursery. I then just added large Christmas ornament bulbs for a little color.

There is a planter on the front porch with a Christmas tree in it decorated with ornaments.
I kept our entryway and staircase very basic and neutral with a pre-lit garland.

For details on how I made this easy DIY Christmas Chalkboard from a poster frame visit this post.
There is a chalkboard in the entryway with a wreath on it and the word joy written on the chalkboard.

There is a white mirror above a wooden console table filled with clear glass.
A red picture frame has a Christmas quote inside it.

The courtyard, which is the feature that sold us {me} on this house last year, is adorned with two six foot Christmas trees wrapped in 300 clear lights. Definitely the best investment of the season as they greet us every night when we come home from work!

This year in the living room, I decided to go with a blue, green and metallic color-scheme. This helped to not make the room feel too over-the-top and allowed me to keep all the day-to-day throw pillows and decor in the room. The star of the living room is my ‘O Holy Night’ canvas from Lindsay Letters. I’m fairly certain I will decorate with this canvas every year until the day I die!

A clear glass jar is filled with Christmas ornaments in blue, green and silver.

A wooden coffee table has a tray on it filled with pears.

In the kitchen, I kept the decorations to a minimum. I hung this faux boxwood wreath with a 3M command hook and then taped the ribbon to the hood to secure. I don’t cook {pretty much ever} so don’t worry about a potential fire hazard 😉

In the dining room, I stuck with traditional colors and hung ornaments from the window frames with ribbon and secured with a thumb tack. I love how it turned out.

In the powder bath, I hung a Lindsay Letters ‘O Holy Night’ print in a basic white frame from Michael’s. The print is a white and gold foil version of the large canvas I have in the living room.

In our master bedroom. I hung another simple boxwood wreath from the window framing using a thumbtack. It’s fun to have this little bit of holiday cheer added to our bedroom, which has never been a room I have decorated for holidays in the past. But, this small change has a huge impact.

Last week I showed you some Christmas updates to our king guest bedroom. I created another Christmas chalkboard and wreath combo and pulled in some red and green, along with the plaid and faux fur pillows I made. I will reveal the non-Christmas plans for this room next week!

Striped walls are in the bedroom wall.

My office is the only street-facing room on our main floor, so this is where we chose to place our Christmas tree. I love driving up our street each night on my way home from work to have the glow from the tree greet me!

And that concludes this year’s tour! Thank you so much to those that stopped by. If you are starting out on my page, be sure to check out the tours to those before me and the tour afterwards! The prior tour is Primitive & Proper.
