I know I vowed to wrap up one project at a time and I was eager to finish the guest bedroom. However, on Friday, I started painting over some of the old paint and some of the Restoration Hardware Pale Silver in the entryway.
I started with the clock wall. This had the original paint color and was in pretty bad shape. You can see in this photo the old color on the wall on the left and the new color, Behr Castle Path on the main section with the clock.
At first glance they are pretty similar, but it is amazing how much better the wall looks with a more gray/green color than the pink/fleshy undertones of the prior paint. Plus I am moving from flat to eggshell, which makes such a difference.
I also painted over the Pale Silver in a few areas in our entryway. It is amazing to me how the trim looks whiter already where the Castle Path is versus where the Pale Silver is. Am I imagining it or can you see it too?
I think I’m going the route of the Castle Path in the main areas, hallways, staircases, etc. I will likely use the Pale Silver somewhere else where I can paint a limited amount of trim. I’ll probably paint as much as I can of the area on the main floor next weekend, so I can finally put these areas back together. I’m getting pretty sick of looking at open air vents, frog tape, missing lights, and missing switch plates.

It is amazing how paint can transform a space. It is all looking so great! I can’t wait to see all the areas painted and beautified by you!

Yes….that makes the trim look whiter! Good call on painting the wall again instead of trying to do all the trim. Have a great week

I definetely think painting all that trim would have become a never ending project. The trim looks so much better with that color.
