Sharing a round-up of linear industrial chandeliers, as we search for the perfect option for our laundry room.
I know technically it isn’t Thursday, so I should be giving any One Room Challenge updates (you can get caught up on my project here), but this was somewhat off-topic since it involves a search for a home product. And, in case you missed it, since it’s Friday, I also shared a pool progress update earlier that you won’t want to miss. Today we’re talking all about linear industrial chandeliers!
I mentioned in my design plans that I wanted a linear industrial pendant for the space. We currently have a rectangular light that works well in the shape, so I wanted to continue with a similar shape. However, I thought it was important to bring in a soft black or oil-rubbed bronze light now that the washer/dryer are black. As a reminder, here’s my design board (you can get all the sources in this post). I want everything to have a beachy industrial (modern farmhouse?) vibe.
The original lighting inspiration piece was the Eldridge Linear Pendant from Ballard Designs. I love the look, but not the $549 price tag.
Many of you suggested this rectangular 4-sided glass pendant which was such a great recommendation! (PS – Did you know World Market’s Friends & Family sale started today? You get 30% off your purchase and then free shipping on orders of $200+ with code FFWORLD). Unfortunately, this light pendant only takes 3 25-watt lights – which is basically the equivalent of one regular light bulb. Since the laundry room is a true work zone for us, we need at least 3 60-watt lights to make the room functional (especially since we currently have a 5-bulb fixture). So, the World Market one was tossed out too.
I finally had some time to diligently search for more functional options. These were tough ones to find – it seems like nobody has consistent terminology for these light fixtures. So, I’m going with Linear Industrial Chandeliers 😉 Turns out there are a bunch out there – you just have to search hard. But, I did all the dirty work for you (and I guess for myself too)!
Here are some other great rustic linear chandelier options I found. You can click on any of them to see pricing and more information. Many of them came in quite a bit lower than the Ballard option.
So which one is your favorite?

My favorite is the Efine Vintage Industrial 6 Lights Edison Retro Rustic Wrought Chandelier. Who knew there were so many designs out there!

My friend had one made for her kitchen by using a picture from the Ballards catalog:) Much, much cheaper!

Curious…which one did you go with? I’ve been struggling with paying that much for the Ballard light for about 2 years now. I need to commit and I’m glad I found this post. I worry about it not being bright enough too. Do you have a good resource for how to know how much wattage a room needs?

Honestly, I still haven’t picked one :/ Ugh!

I really love the look of the candle style linear light fixture but I prefer down lighting over my table because we actually do tasks at the table and it’s not just for looks. I feel those may just not be bright enough. I would rather put a dimmer on switch for when the brightness is not necessary. Any thoughts?
