I have been begging the husband lately for a kitten, and he finally (sort of) gave in yesterday. We went to PetSmart and were going to adopt a little black kitten. When we took him to go, his little sister clung to the wires of the cage and was crying really hard. The sucker in us decided to get both of them (they were after all, 2 for 1). So, we now officially have FOUR cats (crazy huh?!?)
So since yesterday, we have been trying to get their smell in our house, because as you can imagine, Bearcat and Bailey are not happy. We really hope they adjust soon, because it is so hard to see them so undone (we have only since them hiss once in history, but probably 50 times since yesterday). Even Bailey and Bearcat are hissing at each other. We have had to lock the little ones in our master bath – and we are hoping that we don’t have to return the kittens if our two can’t adjust…
Here are photos of the cute little ones (they are so cuddly and are only 2 months old). We are naming the little girl (the brownish multi-colored one) Henley (after Don) and we are thinking of Hudson for the little boy (the black one) but we aren’t sure that one goes as well. At one point in the day yesterday (before we separated them) Bearcat charged Henley stood in her face and kept hissing and she just sat there looking at him without a flinch. She is so sweet! They both love to be held and cuddled (which ours never have) and they are the funniest things ever when they fight and wrestle. How could Bailey and Bearcat not love them?
If anyone has ideas for how to get spoiled 2 year old cats to like new baby kittens, please let us know – we feel really bad having to keep them locked away! And, we are really hoping we can get them all to adjust (really that Bearcat & Bailey will adjust) so we don’t have to take the little ones back!
