On Tuesday, I shared my favorite home from the 2014 Salt Lake Parade of Homes. Today I’m sharing my second favorite: Wimbledon (Home #6). Â This house, although spectacular, bordered on ridiculous (18,688 square feet) but it was also tastefully done and actually felt like a home.
More details:
Builder: Steven Dailey Construction Architect: Landforms Design Landscape: Alder Landscaping Interior Design: Megan Rae Interiors
Total Square Footage:Â 18,688Â Bedrooms/bathrooms:Â 7/6Â Price with lot:Â Not available {but I would venture to guess $insane}
This house was so massive that I couldn’t fit the exterior in one frame. For reals.
Walking in the front doors, you are greeted by this beautiful living room.
To the left was one of the staircases to the basement along with the entrance to the master suite. LOVED this room and that wingback bed was to die for.
Heading to the basement {I loved the staircase and board and batten details}.
Three of the bedrooms and their bathrooms. Fun rooms for boys {the basement bedrooms were very masculine, while the upper bedrooms were more feminine}.
Hallway details in the basement:
Basement craft room/wrapping station?
And I secretly L.O.V.E. that every home theater setup I’ve ever been to plays the Eagles Hell Freezes Over tour on their sound systems. Because let’s face it – they make anything sound good. This was actually home 2 of the 6 we visited that had the Eagles on their theaters. Throw pillows, amazing sconces and Don Henley. What more could you ever ask for?!?! I mean, seriously.
Moving on. The basement living room including pool table, Foosball table, chess table and built-in dog house :
Basement workout area. And full size tennis court. Not even joking {helps explain the total square footage}.
Heading back upstairs on the second staircase, we enter the dining room / family room / kitchen area. Which has two islands. And triple ovens.
The upstairs is more of a girl’s loft with a play area and two bedrooms, and is accessed off of the dining room / kitchen / family room area. I loved the mirror and fabric gallery walls!
Â
More from the main level including the second laundry room, second craft room, and mudroom.
Pretty fantastic, right?! My next Parade of Homes post next week will show some of my favorite features of some of the other homes we toured. So much inspiration! Lastly, don’t forget that Monday I will be relaunching my designer fabric sale! Don’t miss out!

oh my goodness! i could get lost in there! i love all the details! and yes, a tennis court, gym and giant craft room do help explain the incredible sq. footage!

The details on that house are so beautiful – lots of gorgeous rooms for sure! That being said, I gotta say it really bugs me that all these houses featured on the parade of homes are SO large. Who is going to buy that?! I’d personally be super excited about a parade that featured functional, well designed homes under 2,000 sq. ft. Simple living is more my jam! 🙂

Not all of them were that large — I’d say this was one of the bigger ones. Also, this one was never intended to be for sale. We spoke to the Builder about this home for quite a while and the owners intended this to be their dream home and they were involved in every single detail of the design process.

This house is massive and yes, a bit ridiculous, but is gorgeously done. What material is the stair runner in the 10th photo? Is it metallic?
Sarah says
It was actually just carpet. I think you’re just seeing the plastic wrapping they had on the carpet to keep it clean 🙂
Emily @ Table + Hearth says
Bahahaa! Derrr. I was all like, “what kind of fancy-pants has some showy weird metallic stair runner?!”.
Marty@A Stroll Thru Life says
Gorgeous, I could live there in a heartbeat.

This home was my favorite as well. While it was massive, the way it was done was so comfortable and inviting. It really had a great feel to it — the pictures just can’t do it justice. Stunning work and attention to detail.
