Welcome to this week’s Wednesday Watch List, where I share the random things that captured my attention and stole my heart over the past week!

1 – It’s a big day around here today! I’m finally meeting with a kitchen designer to discuss our dreams for our kitchen. You can read more about my initial thoughts here. We definitely want a classic look and added functionality.  This kitchen from Studio McGee is an oldy but a goody and has many features I love. As much as I was hoping for a swoopy range hood, I think the one in this kitchen would work better for our space. So, all of the images in her post will be the foundation for what I talk to the designer about. I’ll keep you posted on the progress!
2 – I am loving this striped tasseled tablecloth! It comes in multiple sizes and color (including a check version) and it’s so perfect for indoor or outdoor entertaining this spring and summer! The price is right too. These ones are another cute option (with even more colors available)!
3 –Â Clearly I have a straw clutch obsession this year. And this striped straw clutch is no exception! And the tassels make it even better! So perfect for spring and summer outfits!
4 – Loving these gorgeous bone beads to pair with the glass beads I love so much! They look so beautiful draped on glass bottles or lamps, or piled on top of coffee table books and other vignettes!
5 – I was going to wait until my next Weekend Recap to share this outfit, but when I shared it on Instagram and Facebook earlier this week, people went wild for it there! And, now that the cardigan is still on sale today I thought it was worth sharing today on the blog! It’s the perfect transition piece because it’s lightweight, but gives you a bit of warmth for chillier days. I also love the slits on the sides so it doesn’t pull on your butt or hips. I thinking of getting the yellow and white striped version too!

Hi Sarah,
I follow you on instagram and your blog. Love all your decor and look forward to your Wednesday watch list! I am wondering how you picked a kitchen designer. I am also contemplating a kitchen remodel and am lost as to how to pick someone. Did you choose someone who is a designer but not affiliated with any kitchen design studio/store or is it someone who can do the design and then also arrange the remodel from their business. Any tips would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Mary

Thank you so much Mary! So, honestly, that was the hardest part for me and partly why I’ve been procrastinating on it for so long. I really didn’t know where to start or who to call. I actually found this particular designer through another blogger and a local store owner. She is independent but happens to do a lot of kitchen renos. As you can imagine, I’m pretty specific on what I want, but was really looking for someone to bounce my ideas off of since I’ve never done a kitchen renovation before. She has done quite a few kitchen renovations in older parts of Omaha recently and has great contacts for the work (which is another thing I was struggling to find). If you have a local design store you love, it may be worth popping in and asking if they have a referral. Instagram can be a great resource too (especially if you live in a larger city) – just use the search feature to see if you can find a designer you love that way. And to be honest, there are SO many designers that offer e-design now, too, so they could at least design the look you love and then you would have to find the contractor. I just didn’t want to be tied to one cabinet store that would push certain products/other finishes so I tried to find someone that was independent. I hope that helps!

Thank you for your response! I have procrastinated for all the same reasons as you! I am very picky and have a lot of my own ideas. I might try the design store referral route as a start. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!!

I always enjoy reading your Wednesday Watch Lists. I am now finding myself loving everything blue. I think it may be from all your posts. We are also looking to remodel our kitchen. We live in a 1980’s ranch house and the kitchen had been updated when we purchased it about 4 years ago, but it just isn’t my style. I am like you and not sure really where to start. With pinterest, instagram, houzz and all the other online sources, it has become sensory overload. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you SO much Pam! I totally agree on the sensory overload. I like way too many styles, and it gave me analysis paralysis! Since kitchens are unknown territory for me, I just wanted someone to tell me what I should do and then I can make the minor adjustments to the plan 🙂

I totally ordered the cardi because of your outfit share on IG. When I saw the mint necklace wasn’t available online, I even drove to a Target across town that showed it was in stock. It was actually on clearance which madee smile! So many cute finds this week! Thanks for sharing!
Sarah says
Haha! I love it! And I think you’ll find the necklace was worth the drive 🙂

Hi Sarah! I am a new reader and am loving your blog! The above outfit is calling my name! I actually bought those shoes about a month and a half ago and our weather FINALLY cooperated and I was able to wear them. They are going to be my Spring go-to shoe! I think I need that sweater and necklace now too!
