I’ve promised travel posts for well over a year now, and the time has finally come. Every Friday from now until I run out of content, I am going to get you up to speed on our travels over the past year or so. Since I will be posting these only on Fridays, it will make it easier for those that aren’t interested in travel to skip over the content. Then, once I’m current, I’ll plan to post our travels on a much more real-time basis.

Travel Files - Life On Virginia Street

For those new around here, my husband and I have the opportunity to travel frequently, for both work and pleasure. We are fortunate to have been some incredible places in our lives and it only continues to fuel the fire for our desire to travel. It sometimes seems if we go more than six months without a trip, our sanity becomes questionable. You can read more in this post about my thoughts (including lots of pretty photos I’ve taken), but here is a little excerpt:

We are blessed to be able to see so much of the world, particularly since it brings us so much joy. We truly believe in ‘work hard, play hard’. Each time we are on vacation or exploring somewhere new, we are reminded of why we work so hard and it makes the tough days not as bad. However, over the upcoming year I would like to share more of our travels on the blog. My hope is for the posts not to come off as show-offy or ‘look at all the fabulous places I’ve gone’ {and in reality, some of the ‘fabulous places I go’, I am stuck in a convention hall the whole trip}. Rather, I would like for the travel posts to be a source of inspiration for other adventurers or for those looking to explore other corners of the world from the comfort of their home computers.

The truth is, I am every bit as passionate about travel as I am about home decor. And honestly, the two make me appreciate the other so much more. There is nothing better than coming home from a fulfilling trip to a home you love. I have also gained inspiration for home decor through our travels.

In the Travel Files, I’ll plan to post pretty pictures along with information I would consider to be helpful for others that may be planning a similar trip. If nothing else, it will be a great place for some eye candy (I even have some hotel decor images to share on several trips).

So, starting next Friday, I will officially launch the beginning of the Travel Files. In the meantime, you can check out some of older travel posts here. I hope you’ll enjoy this new addition to the blog and you have a wonderful weekend!

If you would like to follow along on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle and other posts, I’d love to have you follow me on any of the following:

Oh this is going to be FUN!! My husband has a high stress job so we believe in getting away from the everyday stuff to decompress and enjoy quality family time as well. I’m really looking forward to this series!!

Fun! I find myself doing more and more travel posts as my kids get older and we go more places….I like the idea of keeping them to a specific day of the week for people who aren’t interested (though who doesn’t want to see beautiful pictures of amazing places? :))

I am excited for this! I just started reading your blog and am jealous of all your travels. My hubby and I are both teachers and we love using our summers to travel too. I’m excited to get some inspiration and ideas from you (even if I’m just teaching summer school with no cool trips on the horizon).
