Year of Change: February’s Project

Cleaning and Organization Tips

Welcome to this month’s Year of Change challenge announcement. If you recall, each month I team up with Suburban Bitches, Commona My House and Rosa Beltran Design to bring you a doable challenge to be completed within the month. Our goal is that at the end of the year, we will have completed a lot of great, smaller projects that in combination make a huge difference in our homes.

Our challenge in February is to tackle an organization project. In the fall, I shared our organization home tour, but please don’t let that trick you into thinking I’m all that organized. Especially after a significant amount of travel, like I’ve done recently, things just seem to get further and further out of hand around here.

Organizing Your Home Beautifully
{My ‘Organize Me Pretty’ Home Tour}

The areas I specifically plan to focus on and tackle this month: my clothes {time to purge and donate}, all the bedroom closets {which become my dumping ground for anything I want out of sight} and our bathroom. If I get really ambitious, I’ll add the closet in my office – which I’ve never shown….for good reason. It’s a total cluster. Check back in on the last Friday of the month {the 27th} for our big reveals!

If you would like to follow along on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle and other posts, I’d love to have you follow me on any of the following:

    I’m working on getting organized too. I like your Year of Change idea. Change is good and can bring positivity into your home and life. Sometimes it’s a little scary and your advice to take small steps towards a bigger goal is what I have been saying as well. It makes change easier to handle and you feel so accomplished as well!

    I had a week off in January while the kiddos were back in school and purged like crazy! I am talking 2 SUV’s full of stuff to Goodwill and the local animal shelter. Plus I sold a bunch of decor on the local Facebook yard sale site. It’s such a good feeling, like a weight has been lifted. I can’t wait to see your end results!

    I am a newby blogger and would love to unofficially (or officially) be included in your year of change. Is that possible?

      That’s awesome! I need to get myself in gear 😉 Your blog looks beautiful! As far as the Year of Change goes, you could absolutely be included unofficially. We have several bloggers that read the challenge the first of the month and then play along with us. Usually they’ll let us know in comments or by tagging us on Instagram. It helps when you know others are in it with you!
