golden {or white} sunshine

Recently I painted my bathroom and hung up a beautiful mirror that I can’t decide whether to leave it golden or white sunshine?

A golden mirror in the bathroom.

I finished painting our master bathroom two weeks ago pretty much right after I started.  I love the the calming palette – Behr’s Light French Gray.  Today I hung up a $35 mirror I had bought at Garden Ridge some time back.  I love it but can’t decide if I should leave it gold or spray paint it white?  I am kind of digging the statement of the gold version.  Here Henley gives us a glimpse of the mirror and the new paint color.

Behr Light French Gray paint. Gold sunburst mirror. Roller-shade in bathroom window, and cat looking up at the window.

And here, Hawkeye feels left out so he attacks Henley.  Meanwhile, I stand by taking more pictures to try and get the lighting right.

Two cats in the bathtub playing.

I also replaced my DIY roman shade for a $5 Walmart roller shade.  I haven’t decided if I should leave it as is or if I should add some ribbon trim.  I love the simple look of the shade.

Little pots of greenery by the window in the bathroom and the large gold mirror above the tub.

Here is a shot from the bedroom.  Seeing the tile in the shot, it makes me think more and more I should leave the mirror a gold hue.
A full look into the bathroom with the golden mirror being the focal piece.
I picked up these towels, even before I painted, at TJ Maxx.  Can you tell I have a slight quatrefoil obsession?
New patterned towels laying out.

And just to remind you of the before:

The bathroom before painting with very dark walls.

Dark brown walls in bathroom and roller shades on window.

White bathtub and brown walls in bathroom.

One final shot.  I think I have told my husband 5,000 different times that if feels so bright in here with the new paint color {it was even really cloudy and dreary out today when I took these photos}.  In fact we woke up for work a few days after I painted and he said “Please don’t say that the bathroom looks so much brighter.”  I guess it got old after awhile 🙂
Bright walls in bathroom.

And again with all the lights off.

The golden mirror in bathroom above the tub.

What color do you think would be best for the mirror?

Looks great. I would totally leave it gold.

Leave it gold…it strikes a high note in a monochromatic color scheme.
