Sconces

Room Makeovers + Design Plans

I finally pulled the trigger on replacing the sconces. A few weeks back, I was doing what felt like my 450,798th hour of lighting searches. I then came across the Hampton Bay Gala Sconce at Home Depot. At $49.97 each {when I needed four} – it literally felt free – and they had them in stock and my nearest store. Sconces are seriously ridiculous in price. So, I went with this one – I would rather invest in the chandeliers I want. The brushed nickel, white drums, and small crystal {probably really plastic} work well with the entryway chandelier and the orbs I have planned. And the price is hard to beat.

We’ve only hung the two in the upper landing because I have yet to do the second coat of paint in the lower level hallway. Hopefully that will happen soon.

Such a relief to get rid of that orangish/brownish glass. The light is now so much whiter and brighter! They were a bit of challenge to hang, thanks to an uneven electrical box, but my husband saved the day and now they look amazing! Now I’m just counting down the day until the chandeliers can be swapped out – which likely would have already been done if I could find someone to hang lights this high up!

We’re supposed to be getting the “snowstorm of the century” today – which is really like 8-10″. Not much for a native Utah girl like me, but I will take the early out from work if that’s all it takes! Stay safe!
