I wanted to share with you this Pottery Barn picture frame ledge, and how I could fit it into my decor.
When it comes to decorating, I find I do a much better job with the bigger things – wall color, furniture, fabric. But when it comes to accessorizing and filling in empty walls and really embracing the finishing of a space, I am TERRIBLE. Definitely not my forte – which is the main reason we enlisted Autumn’s help last year.

A few weeks back, I was in the Omaha Pottery Barn and saw this picture frame ledge display {not the best quality photo since it was from my phone}.
I’ve seen picture frame displays for years, but for some reason, I really loved this one from Pottery Barn. The photo doesn’t do it justice. And although the shelves are completely full and random, I love the simplicity of the mostly monotone look. Plus I love the addition of the random diverse objects interspersed throughout. I believe this is the Pottery Barn Crown Molding Ledge and Wood Gallery Oversized Mat Frames. I adore the PB look but would likely come up with a more affordable alternative {although it looks like Pottery Barn is doing 30% off plus free shipping right now on all frames}.
I’m thinking I could do something similar either on a blank wall we have in our living room that I don’t know how to handle {between the window and dining room entrance – seen below} or our office space {with the addition of the desk I feel like the room is split into two spaces so decorating the walls has me stumped}.
{disregard the box of hardwood – that’s for another post – and the tiny cat ears poking out from the chair} |
I really like the look of the stacked display ledges so I’m not sure I’d have quite enough space in the living room {could probably only do one there} but the office should have plenty of space. Thoughts on this look in general? Any other suggestions for these wall spaces?

Hi Sarah!
Loving these shelves and all the other decorating you have been up to. I am so impressed by your furniture refinishing abilities. I tried to refinish a dresser and it did not end well. I tried to comment on your Instagram about your entry table but it would not publish. I love those lamps and mirror. Why can’t I ever find stuff like that at Home Goods?

Sarah! Love the idea! We actually have two PB Holman 4″ Ledges in our office. They are great. I have several frames, books, etc layered. They are sturdy as can be! So happy with the purchase! On the hand, I have the white over-sized matte, white wood frames in our home, it is great against our “griege” walls!
