So, I have a few small obsessions lately:
1. American Idol: This is the first year I have ever watched American Idol and I really like it. However, now that it is in the final stages, they could do without the hour long show on Wednesday just to eliminate one person. Anyway, may favorite used to be David Archuleta - he was just so stinkin' cute (and from Utah!) However, he is really starting to bore me. My new favorite is David Cook, who at first I did not like at all. He was awesome ...

springtime in d.c.
I had to go to Washington D.C. for work on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I was really disappointed that I was just a little too early for the cherry blossoms blooming. However, this is such a beautiful city and I feel I can appreciate it much more now as I am older (it definitely isn't as exciting going as a junior in high school, which was when I went when I was younger). I am not a huge history fan, but it is hard not to get excited when you see all the famous monuments and historical sites. We ...

fun with colors
I finished painting our main/guest bathroom today and love the color of the paint. I finally decided to stop being cheap and decided to get the Benjamin Moore paint that I loved (found in the Pottery Barn catalogs). This turned out to be the perfect brown (Benjamin Moore's Davenport Tan)! Here is a before and several after pictures.
Secondly, I got some great new lamps for our black & white guest room. Originally inspired by my white elephant gift I got ...

which of these is not like the others…
These fish are Bearcat and Bailey's all-time favorite toys. Somehow, one of the cats ate the ribbon tails off all the fish we had (my guess would be Bearcat since all he ever does is eat). So last night, we broke down and bought them more fish (see the one on the right as an example of a new, non-mutilated fish). We also bought them some dental chew toys since they (Bearcat) have a plaque problem according to the vet ~ unfortunately, Bailey is the only one that likes to play with these. Somehow, ...

nba rap
I got this from a friend's blog and the more I watch it, the funnier it becomes:
This is for all the basketball fans out there or anyone that just wants a good laugh (the first song is the best)! I watch little to no sports on TV (unless forced to) but I still enjoy watching basketball - especially now that my team, the Utah Jazz, have Kyle Korver on their team :) ...

boredom = redecorating
For some reason I was really bored this weekend. Nothing was entertaining me (I know I shouldn't complain and just enjoy the down time, but sometimes I just want things to do). So, I went all over town trying to find decorating ideas but found very little. I also searched all the home improvement stores for paint samples (who knew that the Benjamin Moore paint that Pottery Barn uses is $50!) I think I am going to have to find the Lowe's brand equivalent colors. Anyways, I think I need to have ...

vinyl wall rubbings
Following is the requested link for UppercaseLiving, where I got my vinyl wall rubbings (I have posted a few I think are really cute/unique):
http://www.uppercaseliving.com/
The rubbings are all vinyl and are fairly easy to apply and can be placed on many surfaces. I order them from a lady at my office who sells their products, but they are originally from Utah ...

our new home
In November, the husband and I finally moved into our new home. For those of you that had been to our first house, you can see how much more space (and storage) we now have. We love it! We are finally starting to finish all of our unpacking and are starting to decorate more now that I am finally finished with school. We still have more work to do, but we love how it is all coming together. I think I have a picture of every single beam and 2x4 that went into building our house, me being the ...
