Office Curtain Panel and Some Gold Feathers

Decorating Ideas, Tips and Trends, Room Makeovers + Design Plans

I finally completed my office curtain panel and hung up shadow boxes with some gold feathers!

I completed my first ever DIY curtain panel last weekend! I say first ever because the last set I made, I never ended up hemming the bottom prior to our move. I love the new fabric (Windsor Smith Riad in Clove) and I love how they turned out!

The worst part of this whole project was ironing the panels once they were complete. I have three more panels to wrap up for this room, but I ran out of fabric so I’m on the lookout for a good deal. I also hung these adorable shadow boxes from Target that have gold metal feathers inside. I thought they were a fun look for fall and I love the depth and dimension they add. They stick out from the wall about two inches so there is some good depth to them. Seeing them in photos though I worry they may be a bit small for this room?

Here’s another peek into how the renovated office is coming along {to see additional photos go here or here}.

Office drapes in Windsor Smith Riad in Clove. Wall colors are Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze and Behr Castle Path.
SHOP THE LOOK OF OUR OFFICE:

In some rather sad news, the chandelier is way too little for this room and it was missing several parts {but Joss & Main was great to work with and they are already shipping me new parts}. The guest room will be happy but the office is sad. I’m still on the search for an affordable chandelier replacement.

Have a great weekend!

The feathers look great on that small swath of wall. I love them! They are not competing with the panelled wall or the curtains.

Curtains act as another form of windows which helps to maintain privacy in a room. It looks attractive according to proper light positioning in the room. Attractive curtains add to the extra glamour to the space.

I found the fabric on Etsy but it is the Kravet Windsor Smith Riad in Clove so it is available at a lot of online fabric stores as well.

I love this curtain. I just came across your site looking for curtain ideas for my brother’s house for my sis-in-law! I will show her this idea b/c she has very neutral walls. She’s got lots of windows to do. 🙂

I saw the tutorial on how you made your first curtains, but these seem a little different. Did you sew these differently? Sorry maybe you already posted a how to on these curtains, but I’d love to see how you made them! We’re moving into our home in a couple of months. Thanks!
