I wanted to share with you my DIY fall planters for some seasonal inspiration!
I shared some inspiration photos with you last week for my fall planters, and on Sunday I purchased the supplies and made them all in just over an hour! For five planters it cost me about $110. More than I wanted to spend for something that’s seasonal, but the birch logs were $30 of that and I should be able to use them for fall and into winter planters for many seasons to come.
I used a mix of colorful mums, green leafy kale, ornamental grass and pumpkins {and the birch logs in the big planter on the porch}. Simple, but I like it. And, although its fall, I still like to use my favorite fertilizer/plant food to keep all the plants healthy and hearty!
I’m thinking I should have gone with the 6′ birch sticks {in lieu of the 4′ ones I purchased}, but you live and learn, I guess.
I’m pretty much obsessed with kale after this fall project. Not only is it affordable {and an excellent filler} it adds an amazing texture and gorgeous color.  For more fall inspiration check out Fall Porch and Planters.  Happy Fall!

love the kale and birch branches. Really cool how the branches add so much height. Where did you get them? I bet you can think of a million things to do with them for the holidays, too!
