You can’t go wrong with these blue Christmas wreaths, so pretty!
The Blue Christmas Blog Hop continues today with wreaths and wall decor. I decided to spice up some plain wreaths I had with ornaments to incorporate into my other “blue” decorating.
The Christmas Wreath Tutorial
I started with two pre-lit wreaths I had picked up from Target a few years back. At 75% off of $14.99 they came in at a whopping $3.75 a piece. You could easily pick up the cheap unlit wreaths and add your own lights. I used a 3M Command Strip to attach each one to the window and then found an extension cord to link the two together. Then I decided it was best to deal with the cords at the end, as I didn’t want to risk having them all come undone as I was applying ornaments.
I then grabbed three or four mini-ornaments from the $3.99 boxes I got from Garden Ridge {also used in my Blue Christmas Blog Hop: Ornaments project}. So I simply strung the pretty ornaments with a piece of floral wire, did a few twists and then secured the clump of ornaments to a branch on the wreath. Each wreath has five of these clusters. I stuck with mostly three to a clump, but when I used the mini-mini-ornaments, I did two of the larger minis and then two of the mini-minis.
Once all the sparkly ornament clusters were added, I looped some ribbon onto the wreath and taped it to the window trim. This also helped to camouflage the cords. I strung a white extension cord from the left wreath to the right wreath {up behind the bow and then along the window trim back down below the other ribbon}, and then a longer one back up the wreath on the right to the window trip and then down the far right side trim to the outlet. For the most part, you can’t see the cords much at all. I love how these turned out and they could not have been more affordable!
Since I have been out of town most of this week and will be again most of next week, I also got my Christmas tree up and fully decorated so I didn’t fall behind! This is perhaps my most favorite view of the wreaths. Can you even handle all the sparkling light reflections?! That’s my view while I’m blogging and it’s safe to say I’m pretty giddy.  For more wreath inspiration check out Red Felt Ruffle Wreath

I love it Sarah- the blue and gold ornaments looks amazing together and I love the idea of using a wreath on a window- I have never thought to do that and might have to ‘borrow’ that idea!!
Oh, and thanks for sharing it at the Get Your DIY On Challenge! Hope to see you back today with an ornament project:)
