I’ve got an exciting double-header of posts lined up for you today. Our powder bathroom reveal will be going live shortly, but first, I wanted to share my top ten posts from 2016, according to my Google Analytics.
2016 was an odd year project-wise for us, because we had a few large-scale projects (like the backyard and pool). It was obviously an all-time favorite project around our household, but it didn’t leave tons of time for other projects throughout our home. I’ll be sharing more on Thursday about some of our goals for the coming year. But, before we look ahead, let’s look at just how much we accomplished!
The top ten posts are always fun because new readers can see old projects they never saw, and long-time readers (thank you!!) may see something they forgot or loved or want to re-visit again. So, without further delay, my top ten posts of 2016! You can click each of the post names to read the original post.
#10 Lighting Look for Less – This was second of three lighting look for less posts I’ve done on the blog. I think this one was a favorite, because I also included inspiration photos so you can see the fixtures in actually rooms. Observation noted and I’ll plan to adjust accordingly for my next post early this year!
#9 Real Life Home Tour – This post shocked me in terms of how well it performed. Apparently you guys love to see that bloggers are real people and likely have more junk and clutter around their homes that the average person! I’m just grateful I did this post early in 2016, because sadly, the situation has gotten worse. I’ll address this is more detail later this week!
#8 Backyard Pool Reveal – In our house, this was by far our number one favorite thing in all of 2016. After years of saving, we were able to complete our dream backyard project with the addition of a pool and landscaping. This is the post that gave all the dirty details of the entire project (not just the pretty pictures). I also shared a time lapse video of the build!
#7 Home Decor Items You Likely Never Knew Were On Amazon – We all know Amazon has everything, right?! But I always forget to search it for stylish home decor finds. When I found some of my favorite fabric there, it led me down the rabbit hole of other great decor items. So, I rounded up some categories that others may find helpful!
#6 Stylish Throw Pillows Under $10 – Throw pillows are my weakness. I see one I love, I buy it. So when I can find affordable and stylish throw pillows or covers, it’s a win win!
#5Â Summer Home Tour: Part II – Summer is definitely my favorite season and always my favorite to decorate (or really “un”decorate) for. I love the chill yet polished vibe of our summer home tour!
#4Â Early Fall Home Tour – I actually love fall, too, but it makes me a bit sad because it signals the end of summer. So, this year, my fall home tour wasn’t “traditional” in terms of fall colors or decor. I challenged myself to use the blues and greens of summer in richer colors and textures to create a warmer space for the cooler months. Ultimately, I loved how it turned out!
#3 Spring Home Tour – Spring was a bit crazy for us as we prepared for the pool project. So, my decor was simple and uncomplicated. Apparently that resonated with many of you!
#2 20 Boozy Fall Drinks – I’m fairly certain the popularity of this post came from Pinterest (especially since it’s only a few months old), but nobody can deny the goodness of a boozy fall drink so it totally makes sense it was my second most popular post of the year 😉
#1Â How to Design a Room You Love – Now, for the top post of the year! In January, I sprung a surprise room makeover on all of you, and this particular post outlined my thought process and design tips I used along the way to create the room.
Thank you again to everyone who has followed my journey this year and in year’s past! I’ll also be sharing our powder bathroom reveal today, and I can’t wait to show you a room makeover again since I know there weren’t tons in 2016. It’s a great way to start the year!
Now I’m excited to share with you the top ten project posts (along with the name of their top project) from some of the best bloggers on all of the internet! There is so much talent, and this is a great way to quickly see what each blogger has to offer and all of their best posts from the year. Enjoy!
