I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It was a busy week around here and I’m excited to share all the latest updates, including several fall updates to our interior and exterior of our home!
Thursday night, I met my blogging friends Jen and Amanda at a blogger event at Travel | Design | Lounge. It’s a new concept in booking your travel arrangements and Omaha is the first to get one of these prototypes. The idea is that you go in, in a relax setting (hello, full bar) and get inspired by what you want your next destination to be. It is a super hi-tech lounge with tablet stations, with group travel in mind. The advisor’s at TDL know that no two travelers are alike, so they work to fully customize your trip or just work as a sounding board if you are more the DIY package traveler.
If you live in Omaha, you can find Travel | Design | Lounge at the Shops at Legacy. I would highly encourage you to check it out! Their slogan “Get Tripsy” may just be one of my favorites ever.
On Saturday morning, I finally updated our front yard for fall. We had several planters that were full of dead annuals and I finally remedied the situation. Not only did I clean up our three planters out on the front pedestal, I added some fall plants to the planter on our front porch. Here are the before shots:
And, the after! You can see I saved the plants that were still doing okay like the potato vines and asparagus grass.
Later that afternoon, I attended an Instagram class taught by Trisha Hughes of Eat Your Beats at our local Whole Foods. It was a great class!
Since Pottery Barn is nearby (and they were having a sale AND I had a gift card), I swung by ahead of the class. I bought all of these fig branches they had in stock (six total) and I love the look of them for fall! I have three in our entryway and three in the living room! The sale is still going on until the end of the day – a full 20% off your entire purchase!
I love the look in our living room as well!
Sunday was another action packed day.
We woke up with the intention of replacing our kitchen faucet. I’ll share more about the details on the new faucet (likely tomorrow) but, let’s just say we likely won’t be trying to do our own plumbing work any time soon 😉 Here was the faucet before we started. I think we gave up after about three hours when we couldn’t even get the original faucet removed.
I then met my blogging buddy Mandy for lunch before heading to the opening of the Omaha World Market. We had the most amazing margaritas at lunch (at Roja) so we plan to recreate them and then share the recipe soon!
When I got home from my girl time with Mandy, my husband had managed to get the faucet off. It turns out there is a really handy tool made for just that job and it also turns out it makes your life a million times easier. With the faucet off, we then found the hole in the quartz wasn’t large enough for our new sink faucet because of the added filter lines. Seriously. After another trip to Lowe’s we got a tool to shave the quartz.
Long story short, I think we may finally be ready to share the new kitchen faucet with you all tomorrow! Until then, let’s hope the current state of things improves 😉
Lastly, I came across this red and black buffalo check fall throw that will perfectly carry you into the Christmas season! It also comes in black and white as well as oatmeal and white if red isn’t your thing.
I hope you all had a great weekend!

I’m always so impressed with the projects you get done over the weekends! Major props to your hubby for getting that faucet out – you guys are officially DIY rockstars if you can tackle some plumbing. . . Also – when are we getting together to perfect our new margarita recipes?? Sounds like a great excuse to get together again 😉

Thanks so much for including me in your update! I loved meeting you & I’m definitely digging that buffalo print throw! Also… I still haven’t been to Roja’s! Those margs are making me put it at the top of my list. 🙂
