After spending nearly five of the last twelve weeks out of town {with three of those weeks even out of the country}, I can finally announce that I am DONE with travel for the foreseeable future. Well, that is, unless you count my day trip to Dubuque, Iowa on Thursday 😉
With that being said, I’m hoping for things to get a lot more “normal” around here, whatever that actually means. I had a similar discussion with you all in November in this post, and although things may be slower around here than they were a year ago, it will definitely be more action-packed than it has been the last three months or so. It’s amazing what a weekend at home affords you in terms of project completion!
After being on the road so much and not having much of a routine since prior to the holidays, I need to get back to working out and eating right. I have at least 15 lbs of “holiday/vacation weight” to lose and I need to get on it before summer gets here! I’ll likely plan to start with my favorite videos {talked about in this post} but I was curious if any of you have any recommendations or things that have worked for you before? I would prefer something less than 40 minutes, that doesn’t require a gym or equipment {other than portable stuff like hand weights, jump rope etc.}. I know that’s rather limiting but any advice would be appreciated!
This past weekend, I was still recovering from a week in Tampa and Vegas for work, but we did manage to do some major spring cleaning in our yard. The temps have been in the 70’s this past week, so lots of green is popping up and we wanted to get everything prepared for the warmer months ahead. I couldn’t be happier that we don’t have any travel planned currently over the next several months.
With all the travel and sporadic posting around here recently, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have hung around these past few months!
If you would like to follow along on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle and other posts, I’d love to have you follow me on any of the following:

Hi, I like to run (I’m not fast) to keep in shape and I don’t have to worry about any membership fees or going some where to work out during their open times, so running works the best for me.

I absolutely LOVE Blogilates!! The workouts can be done at home with little to no equipment. Cassie is fun and energetic in her videos without being annoying. I have definitely noticed a positive change in my body.
I hope you find a workout you like 🙂

Try the 21 day fix or 21 day fix extreme. It really gets your weightloss kick started by eating clean! I am just finishing a second round!

Have you tried the 7 minute workout? There are a lot of free apps that have it and it’s pretty great!

After having my son (and being a stay at home mom) I needed something I could do at home. In order to lose that last bit of baby weight (that refused to come off) I was able to lose 18 lbs by doing a combination of Hip Hop Abs and the 17 day diet. I didn’t follow the diet to the last letter, but took some great aspects from it (like drinking green tea every time I ate) and it TOTALLY helped! Good luck! I know you can do it!

Check out fitnessblender.com. It’s done by a husband and wife team who have created hundreds of free workouts of varying types and lengths. There’s a great search feature on the website as well.

I second the 21 day fix. I just finished two rounds and lost 12 pounds and 6 inches off my waist in 6 weeks. I am so happy with the results that I am doing another two rounds!

I love Tone It Up. They provide a weekly fitness schedule, lots of free workouts and positive encouragement. Super fun and upbeat way to get in shape.

I love Turbo Fire, Insanity is also a good one. P90x requires minimal equipment – just some resistance bands. I never even got a pull-up bar. I’ve heard good things about T25 – but I haven’t tried it yet. Also running outside! HIIT training is a great way to burn lots of calories and get into shape, and the best thing with that is you don’t need to work out for 60+ aimlessly running at the same pace. I like to do sprints 1 min on, 1 min off – repeat x10 (or however long you want).

You’re coming to Dubuque? My hometown? As respectfully as I can, may I ask if you are coming for a public event where people can meet you?

I wish it were for something fun like that! I actually have a business meeting there where I’ll be holding training at an insurance agency for about four hours. Driving up in the morning and leaving that night! I am excited to check out a new-to-me city for the brief time I’ll be there 🙂

If you like Jillian and her 30 Day Shred, I would recommend Body Revolution (12 week program) and Body Shred (the 8 week follow up). I’ve done both, love them, and have seen great results!

Welcome back, dear bloggy friend! 🙂 I’ll join you on that workout kick shortly when baby 2 arrives – please keep us posted as to what you do. I’ve really enjoyed several of the Beachbody dvd series in the past (TurboFire, etc). Good luck! xx, b

I have to lose a bunch of “Savannah-weight”, too–this is a very fattening city! 🙂 I usually run since I feel like it burns the most calories, but with all the pollen in the air right now, I’ve been using my PiYo DVDs inside. If I could just give up wine, I probably wouldn’t have to work out–sigh. Good luck!
