I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I thought today would be as good of day as any to catch you up on things around here.
Some of you may have noticed that the projects around here have been a little light lately. Things at my day job have been really picking up and I’ve had some new responsibilities added. With that, I have also been working Fridays for the past three months {I used to only have to work one Friday a month} so that has severely been impacting my project times. Now by Saturday, all I want to do is crash or hang out with my husband so I’m usually only getting in a few hours a weekend for projects. I’m sure you’re all thinking “welcome to the real world”.
So, projects are still coming just much more slowly than they have been in the past. I head to Miami all next week for work and with the holidays, I’m traveling a lot to be with family. So, I can’t promise things will get tons better until after the new year but I do have some fun things lined up before then. I am trying to enjoy not always being busy every minute of the weekend, but it can be hard. Somedays 😉 Unfortunately I feel like I’ve been drowning a bit lately and just taking on too much, so I’ve made a conscious decision to not be so hard on myself if I don’t crank out an amazing project every weekend. I hope you’ll hang in there with me!
Now, on to a few pretties {courtesy of my iPhone so the pics aren’t stellar}. First up – I found these gorgeous brass and glass {plastic?} pulls at Hobby Lobby and they were on sale for $2.50 each {full price is only $4.99}.:
Next, my friend Jill and I made the Christmas Card holder I talked about on Wednesday. I’ll share more details later but here is a sneak peak next to the piece with my beloved canvas from Lindsay Letters:
As you can probably already tell, I’ve started decorating for Christmas. This is the first year I haven’t felt like I need to wait until after Thanksgiving, so I’m just going with it. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that this year is an overload of deer and plaid {these items all came from HomeGoods}, but I’m excited to go with the traditional color scheme this year after going with blue and green last year. The silver deer below is already hanging on the wall with a red scarf around its neck. I think its amazing. And my husband totally hates it. Such is life! 😉
My husband and I have also been working out religiously for the past two weeks and eating incredibly well. We’ve only had two cheat meals which is a miracle for us. We’re strictly following the workout I talked about here and following her meal plan as well. We’ve both quite a few pounds already and feel like our endurance has significantly improved. Unfortunately, we want to go to bed by 8:30 every night since we’re getting up before work to work out. I’m just glad we’ve been able to stick with it so far. I hope you all have a great week!

It can be a bummer when “real” life interferes with projects at home! I find so much inspiration in your style, so I hope you’ll still do some Watch List and decor posts, even if projects take a backseat for a while. Good luck with everything!
