I’m in that really weird {and likely short-lived} phase where I am ready for winter. This rarely happens. This weekend just made me long for fires, fuzzy sweaters, furry blankets, Christmas decorations and hot drinks. I know, it just turned November first. This weekend got quite a bit colder {and windier} in Omaha, so after raking leaves and daylight savings time, it feels like it’s time for the glow of Christmas lights and burning fires. At least now I can use the blogging excuse if I have my decor up by Thanksgiving. It’s what the people want! 😉
Among the yard work and other tasks this weekend, I made some additional progress on our mudroom. Hopefully I won’t have to go any higher than ‘Mudroom Update 6’ without showing a reveal! This weekend, I focused on painting the other three walls. I used Behr Dolphin Fin {at 50% saturation, like I did in our master bath} in satin finish. The color always seems to emphasize just how not-white our trim is, bringing out the pink/yellow undertones in the trim and the blue undertones in the wall color. But I can already tell it will be perfect. The color in combo with the satin finish has already made the room so much brighter! You can also tell the difference the sheen makes in the photo below. One more coat and the walls will be done! To see just how far we’ve come you can see updates 1 / 2 / 3Â by clicking the number you wish to view. We also bought new hooks at Home Depot so we should have those up soon!

In the photo below, you can see the trim color issue. The bench, lower cabinets and door trim are still the old color. Bad, right? The space will completely change once I get all that painted {although it also involves then painting the two other doors in the space}. But, we’re getting there!
Lastly, our Year of Change sponsor for October, Tonic Living, is graciously offering a 10% discount on ALL of the products to our readers. This applies to anything in store {fabric, pillows, hardware, etc.} as well as custom work, and can be applied to already reduced items (no restrictions at all). You can use code YEAROFCHANGE10 anytime between now and Monday, November 10 (inclusive) with no minimum purchase. They don’t offer discounts frequently so this is a great opportunity for you. In addition to all their gorgeous fabrics, I am loving some of their ready made pillows {perfect for all of you that hate to sew}!

I am so ready for winter and holiday decorating too! What is wrong with us!? hehe Loving you updates so far. Where is the light fixture from? You may have already gave your source away, but I just love how it looks and I am looking for a couple for our entryway. Hope you are doing well!

Thanks Amy! I got the chandelier at Overstock: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Josie-Antique-Copper-Iron-Chandelier-with-Fabric-Shade/8433283/product.html?searchidx=0. I actually felt like it was a bargain given the quality! I hope you’re doing well too!
