Mostly because I have nothing else to blog about and I am sure you are all bored with the lack of updates. And when I say random, I mean ran.dom.
I fell in love with this “vintage” {circa 2007} J Crew jacket while reading about it on Simply Seleta. I don’t know what attracted me most – the color, the stand-up collar or the fact that it reminded Seleta of Scarlett’s “curtain dress” and the fact that I actually got the reference since I finally finished reading “Gone With the Wind” about two weeks ago. The funny thing is I have heard other references from GWTW over the past few weeks and love that I knew what it was about. Makes me wonder how many times I didn’t get it in the past. I didn’t love the fact that I couldn’t find a copy of the movie anywhere and finally had to resort to buying it from Barnes & Noble so I can watch it.
Remember the Bombshell discussed here? Well, they changed the name to Miraculous and honestly, both names apply. I took the plunge {no pun intended} and bought the bikini version for our upcoming departures from the country. The good news is no one will be looking at all my winter chub 😉 The bad news is my dad will be on one of the trips and he may be scarred for life! The color I ordered {exact set shown in photo} is even on clearance. You know it must be legit when the hubs doesn’t even care that you unnecessarily bought swimsuit #147.
Next love – our Keurig coffee maker we got for Christmas. Best decision ever {plus it got rid of one of my “chores” of making coffee for us each night for the next morning}. It also makes amazing hot chocolate and tea. Love, love, love! Our only complaint – the biggest size it makes is 16 oz. – we prefer the 20 oz babies!
While I was buying Gone With the Wind {as mentioned above} I bought my all-time favorite movie in DVD version {since I only have VHS now} – The Mirror Has To Faces. Two Words: Jeff Bridges. Have I mentioned I love him….LOVE him!! Still my favorite movie of all time despite the fact I don’t love Barbra Streisand.
I love that Crate + Barrel has released a chair made of the same fabric I bought for the bonus room {the curtains are up – just waiting for other finishing touches to show you the results}. It re-affirms my decision was the right one! Fabric is DwellStudio’s Bella Porte in Midnight.
And speaking of fabric I am in love with DwellStudio’s Vintage Plumes fabric in Jade. It my be the one I coordinate with the above fabric for the bonus room.
Also love that I found Windsor Smith’s Riad {blogged about here} at half the cost of retail at Modern Fabrics. I was so sad when it sold out, but I continued to diligently check their site and snagged it up when it came back in stock. Can’t wait to make some pillows!
I am loving Jimmy John’s Unwiches. Its the sandwiches without the bread – served in a
lettuce wrap instead. It cuts the calories and fat in half and tastes great! It is a much more refreshing version of their sandwiches. My faves are the JJBLT and the Beach Club.
I LOVE that my weekend will be full of my favorite things, including getting my hair did {thanks for everyone’s input – I think I am going to stay long and go darker – if my girl-crush Lauren Conrad did it, so should I!}, dinner with friends and a Superbowl Party at my sister-in-law’s {as the husband likes to say – “Go Stackers”}. I told the husband one of my resolutions was to be more social this year since we are such hermits. He laughed and said good luck. I guess he isn’t on board.
I dislike that my work trip got cancelled for next week to Virginia due to the winter weather. Besides the fact I really wanted to go, it was going to make our upcoming vacation get here that much sooner!
Steven Tyler. I LOVE him on American Idol. There have been multiple times that we have had to rewind our DVR because we are laughing so hard at his comments. I was a little nervous that this year would be the year I wouldn’t watch Idol because it sounded lame. But surprisingly I have really liked it. If we can’t have Simon, at least we can have Steven.
I LOVE that February is here and that spring is that much closer. So ready for the warm weather and sun!
