Today I decided to start priming our island cabinets so that the entire island is white. Something was just off when we left the front of the cabinets their natural color and the sides and back were the white beadboard. I figured it must be really bad if the husband actually agreed to let me paint the cabinets. Here is an old shot of the before {when the countertops were actually clean}:
Today I started by removing all of the doors and hardware {being sure to label the doors along with their hardware so that everything would fit back together seamlessly} and then washed everything down really well. I then applied two coats of Zinsser 123 primer to everything {I have read this is the best for kitchen cabinets and adheres really well so that you don’t have to sand the facing, which can actually damage this type of cabinetry}. Loving the cohesive look of all white so far!
