The kittens were dropped off at the vet yesterday morning to get de-clawed (all four sets on each of them). They have officially doubled in weight since we got them (they are both close to 5.5 pounds now). The vet uses a laser to remove their claws so the damage is minimal and they basically seal the wounds shut with surgical glue. I was able to pick them up after work tonight so it is nice to have them home again!
Here are some pictures of them on Sunday playing (lets hope Hawkeye can still pull these sweet moves without the assistance of his claws)! They are both not feeling great yet (they are really tired and you can tell their paws are still sore) but I am sure they are glad to be home! It will be nice to be able to walk through the house now without having one of the kittens lunge at us and attach mid-way up our bodies with their claws. Oh, and I had to include a close-up of Henley. She plays a little hard and doesn’t have many whiskers left (and the ones that were broken are finally starting to grow back so she looks like an orphan child). Our house feels like a zoo somedays!
