I hope you all had a great weekend! We ended up hitting 65 degrees on Friday, which pretty much felt like summer. It’s amazing how much happier I am when I don’t have to wear a coat!
Friday, my friend Kim from Oh My Omaha! interviewed me on her blog. If you’d like to know more about some of my favorite things to do in Omaha, I’d encourage you to stop over to read the interview!
We had to finalize a lot of decisions for our pool over the past week and weekend. We made a trip to the stone/patio store, made some changes on the pavers we’re likely using, and I “think” we picked out the stone veneer for the retaining wall. We also had a meeting at our house on Saturday. I know I’ve promised a pool update post for a while, but things kept changing so much I figured I would update you when things were more set in stone. But, tomorrow, I’ll have a full recap of where we currently stand. It’s starting to get exciting!
Last week I discovered the life-changing impact of groceries you can order online. And they get delivered to your house! Grocery shopping might be my number one nemesis so this may very well revolutionize my entire life. And I’m not even being dramatic at all. If you live in the midwest, I highly recommend checking out Hy-Vee’s Aisles Online. I’ll probably never step foot in a grocery store again…unless I need booze 😉 Have you tried a grocery delivery service before? #gamechanger
On Friday during my lunch break, I ran to Trader Joe’s for a few items we needed and also picked up $5 worth of tulips. The temps also hit 65 degrees that day, and it’s amazing how much tulips and warm weather make it feel like we’re turning a corner! I shared this picture on Instagram of the tulips – and you can see a sneak peak of my spring pillows. High fives for warmer weather that seems to be on its way!
You can shop similar pillows here:
We’re headed to much warmer weather later this week (Costa Rica!), so I spent most of the weekend in a complete panic over what to pack. Is there anything worse than bathing suit shopping in the dead of winter, when you’ve gained some lbs, and your skin is translucent white?! Talk about a confidence booster the week before you have to wear a swimsuit. Ugh. But, I’ll be posting the items I did end up buying later this week in my resort wear shopping guide.
We went to the nearby outlet malls on Saturday, as well, to pick up a few things for the trip. I bought this lace linen tee in a bright yellow color, this button-up that I thought would be cute with rolled sleeves, as well as this green flutter-sleeve top. I’m pretty obsessed with all of them! They just feel so springy!
A few other items I thought were really cute. Scallop shorts are everything:
Saturday night we went with our friends to see Deadpool. I honestly knew nothing about it going into it, but even the opening credits had me dying of laughter. It was really good and not at all what I expected for a comic book movie. But, be warned: it has some pretty strong language. But it was overall really good and completely different than anything I’ve seen before! And….Ryan Reynolds.
I spent most of the remainder of the weekend getting posts ready for when I’m gone. I’ve got quite a bit lined up so you won’t have to miss out on the blog while we’re away. I’m sure you’re super relieved 😉 But, in all seriousness, it feels good to have content almost all completed – and I think knowing I have content going up will help me to relax a bit more while we’re away!

I keep meaning to try the Hy-Vee delivery service. Everyone raves about it, so I don’t know why I haven’t yet!
