Since it’s already the first Friday of the month {what?!}, we are announcing our Year of Change project: guest bedroom refresh. And, in addition to the usual fabulous crew {Suburban Bitches, Commona My House and Rosa Beltran Designs} we are excited to have the lovely ladies at 11 Magnolia Lane as our guest designers! November really is the best month to refresh a guest bedroom, as, more than likely, we all have visitors at our homes some point between now and the end of the year. I’m excited to see what this talented group comes up with. Our reveals will be on the last Friday of the month, November 28th!
Secondly, today I’m over at Cuckoo 4 Design sharing about our lives with our pets. For those that don’t know, we have four cats. Yes, FOUR. I’m sharing a little more about them and how we still manage to maintain a clean and beautiful home in spite of while living with them. Here’s a little photo shoot preview of just how chaotic our lives really are with the circus we live with. Always a blur and complete chaos. Captured! Be sure to stop by and not only check out the post, but Julia‘s gorgeous blog. She has some of the freshest and most unique design ideas in blogland. Have a great weekend!

Great post about your kitties! How do you keep your cats from scratching your furniture and especially rugs and carpet? I have only one vat and she can be quite destructive 🙁

Our are actually all declawed {front and back} because they never go outside, unless for a few minutes supervised. They still try to “scratch” but it is mostly heavy pulling on things like cording etc. on the edge of couches.

Curious if you have had your cats declawed? If not, how do you keep them from scratching your furniture & rugs!
Sarah says
Yes, they are actually declawed in the front and the back because they don’t go outside (unless for a few minutes on our patio supervised). They definitely still have the “scractching” instinct and will sharpen their “claws” on piping on our furniture.

Hi, just a comment on declawing cats. I have 2 cats (occasionally 2 more when I mind my daughter’s cats) and although they are basically indoor cats, none are declawed. I think this is unnecessary and cruel (like cutting off someone’s fingers) and it only takes some patience and kindness to teach them to use an indoor scratching post. I wonder why you had the back claws done as well. I have to say there is the odd small scratch here and there, but hey, this house is a home and they are much loved members of it!
